More interested in the England cricket team, and am really looking forward to the forthcoming Ashes series in Australia. Will watch the England football matches coming up, because at least it will be competitive matches, never watch the friendly ones, as they are insignificant, and am baffled as to how goals scored in them count towards players individual scoring records, because in almost all matches, the rules are altered.

Might be an idea to play all these international matches in midweek, as it used to be, then we would not have these blank weekends. Also baffled how it comes about that the FA have the whip hand, as regards selecting players, surely if you own a club, its someones possession, hard to see how its come about that an international body can dictate, as it is, if they think a club side is being awkward, they can invoke a ban on a player, who would not be able to play in a club match, if they so wish.

The FA, as far as I know, do not have any board members who have played Professional football, says it all really, and how they end with a president who is a member of the royal family, is frankly a joke, when there is a multitude of ex players who would love to take on the role, this would be a great way to connect with the public.

Personally I would do away with all anthems before the matches, its football, not a war, but if we must lets ditch that dirge of an anthem of ours, which just gives praise to one woman, with no mention of the country, and musically is appaling anyway. Let us get into the twenty first century

I'm not sure it all went wrong when we appointed a foreign manager, although I wasn't at all a fan of Erikson. But it just perplexes me why in international football you can appoint foreign managers, foreign coaches and even have players who have very little association with the country, it really spoils it for me, they're international competitions and it should be about having the best of that country including coaches and managers. I'm not overtly against foreign players in the PL and I'm fairly pro immigration but I just can't understand why international teams appoint foreign managers, it defies the point of it being an international competition.

    :emoticon-0159-music I'm England 'til I die,
    I'm England 'til I die,
    I know I am, I'm sure I am,
    I'm England 'til I die :emoticon-0159-music

There's only three teams I want to see win and that's Ipswich, England and whoever's playing Norwich.

SD, that prompts the question, if the Budgies qualified for Europe would you want them to win or the opposition.?

Don't forget that you started off saying "England till I die"

And the budgies would be representing the English PL in Europe.!

I see what you are saying Supers but whenever; Utd, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Wigan etc...even Swansea I want them to win because they are an English (or English league) team but back when you budgies had a short spell in Europe I always wanted you to lose no matter who you played. My missus always accused me of having double standards, she kinda had a point, that is why I put the question out there.

so do i to be fair, but it's a local rivalry and i wouldn't support ipswich in europe.

do english people support scotland when they qualify for a tournament (not that they do these days)? i suppose its similar to that.
