you know its speculation. I cant ever remember a player we have been linked with and actually signed them. He suddenly becomes available and then the papers do there bit to entice a deal. The guys a monster. All the teams that have had success this season in the championship have all had tough nuts in front of the defence. Look at reading, they signed leighterwood from qpr to fill that role and he had prob been there best player when on that crazy run they had. Oli did well at cardiff. QPR - derry. Swansea - pratley, forest - moussi I think norwich were the only team not to play a dm role. And we had johnson or killer - ironically both on there way out

Smith is a class act. He was a key player for Newcastle when they got promoted on 104 points. He'd be a great signing. I don't care about what happened before, all that matters is if he'd be a good player for us, which he would.
Few things about Smith: 1. Rumoured to be on 50-60k a week. 2. Good in the Championship for us, all the desire is still there but if you get promoted he wont be any use in the PL. 3. He has one year left on his deal at NUFC and we'd take around 1mil for him.
