Assem Allam has explained why he wants to change the name. It has very little to do with the far east if his quotes in the press are to be believed. In the Guardian article he said all clubs with City in their name should change it. If he thought that we would get a financial advantage by changing our name why would he be telling Stoke City to get their noses in the trough as well? Assem Allam said on Look North that he wanted a name he could be proud of. He told the Hull Daily Mail that he thought City was a lousy identity and irrelevant. Basically he's telling me and people like me that we have a lousy identity and he is going to change it for us and give us a better one, without asking how we feel. His words are there for all to see. Nothing about lining up millions of pounds worth of investment, no Vincent Tan in the background demanding we change the name because he wants to buy us, nothing apart from Assem Allam saying we have a lousy identity and all clubs with City in their name should change it. I accept some people will trust him after what he's done for us. I just find it a bit strange that people who use City in everyday language don't mind the owner saying we identify with something lousy, but it takes all kinds to make up a world.
You sort of missed what I was saying, I said I'm happy to let people trust Allams judgement on it unlike some on here won't accept that as a good enough reason. Not that I'm happy to go along with it on that basis. Everyone makes mistakes yes, but whatever Allam's trying hasn't even started yet, so even if we can't see it making a jot of difference it can't officially be a mistake until it doesn't work. My point about the F1 was that just because the best haven't tried something doesn't mean it won't work. Red Bull were minnows until that breakthrough and look where it's landed them. It's actually a very close comparison, as from the next season everyone followed Red Bulls lead and binned their limited slip diffs for locked ones. Dr. Allam seems to think it will only be a matter of time before everyone follows his lead with the name change. I can't see the point to it myself, I can't see how a shorter name will affect anything but the time it takes to write out business documents, though its true the world is changing, everything's getting shorter and simpler, and it may have a positive effect. We simply do not know for certain until its tried and tested.
If I told an electrician that the red wire was earth, the blue wire was live and the green wire was neutral, he'd laugh at me. I feel the same way about anyone telling me that Hull Tigers will hold more appeal in Asia, I know the place very well, it's my area of expertise. PS - Don't let APM read this post, just in case he has any more outside lights to install.

Can you post the link to the thread? Edit...Was it about the formation of the group? If so, I'd like to think that group is a decent set of people capable of not just looking at this single issue, but progressing to give a voice to the club to the different needs of each type of fan. For example, some like to sit and watch, others stand and are more active. There's room for both to be happy.
In the interests of safety, and specifically APM's health and safety...that red wire is brown, and the green is green and yellow...
It depends on how old your wiring/equipment is. Live can be red or brown, neutral can be blue or black and earth can be green or green/yellow(though modern stuff is indeed brown, blue and yellow/green).
I had a motorbike where the possy was black, the neutral was black and the earth was black. Why? Because the dopey **** who owned it before me left the wiring loom bare when he sprayed the frame.
Talking through your a**e ! Read a few other posts for proof. I stand by my original comments and don't call people you disagree with "liars" CRETIN
Sure, in the olden days. If you got wires those colours now though, you should change them, and we really don't want APMs death on our consciences do we?? lol thats brilliant.
The City Till I Die chant doesn't sound too bad on here.
Cheers for that it shows Hudds brilliant twirl. So singing from the East stand but **** all from the South were it was filmed from, which was my point
I will just be pleased we have won some ****ing silverwear. Are you SERIOUSLY gonna turn down the FA cup just because it hasn't got our traditional name on it? and the league cup? I assume you mean the Premiership? yeah they can shove their European places too
