Leicester City are pursuing former Ghana international defender John Pantsil. The Mercury understands City have made an enquiry for the 29-year-old right-back, who is out of contract at Premier League Fulham this summer and has not been offered a new deal. However, the player's wage demands may be a stumbling block as it is believed he has asked for as much as £25,000 per week to drop into the Championship, a figure City have balked at.

Pantsil's wage demands are half those of Yakubu who I know does the important thing of scoring goals. I'm afraid these Premier League players are going to want high wages.
I've come to the conclusion that I know sod all about being a football manager or a football club finance director - I do know that I trust Sven to make the right call, he is not a stupid man by any standards and has a fantastic pedigree. That said I would like to see a quality Championship player signed who knows this league and knows what's needed to succeed in it.
25k is a bit steep for a right-back. Agree with proud, the big wages in the Championship should be going to the scorers, as they are the ones that are going to make or break us.
Well, there is that famous saying that attckers win you matches but defences win you championships. However, I agree that 25k is too much for John Pantsil, I'd take him at 15k though.
