http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24354888 There is a story on BBC Sport talking to Graham Taylor about his days as England Manager
Gary Richardson mentioned GTs unwelcome England legacy and the vitriol it attracts to Pleat on this morning Today programme. No suprise that the twisted, no nothing, bitter, perv had no symphaty, saying that it all went with the territory.
Looking back on GT's England adventure, bitter though it was at the time, I'm actually glad in a very selfish way that it did not work out for him. Just over 2 years later he was back at Vicarage Road and the rest, as they say, is history. If GT had succeeded at the highest level then there is no chance he would have returned and we might now be wallowing around in the lower divisions of the Football League (or, of course, worse.....)
Pleat is an utter scum bag. A few weeks after slagging Sir GT off at a scummer fund raiser and I quote "he set back English football for years"' the utter bastard was Sir GT's guest at a home match. A mate of a mate was introduced to the kerb crawling creep and ripped into him about it - he retreated quickly!
The comments below seem quite kind actually - I was expecting a load of stick for GT. BTW its £30 for Brighton!
Do we need that new stand quickly? I has hoped that I might be in England for the Derby game, but as things worked out I will be back here. Normally if I had been going to a game ten days away I would have booked my tickets on-line about now, allowing for the post to do it's best. Just had a look at what my choice of seats would have been and did a count up. 64 seats are available in the whole ground, excluding the away area, and I hope that with it not being the other end of the country they will do their best to sell out as well.
Did anyone see the stuff in the WO about the club being taken to court over unpaid loans to the company Bassini set up? Also Britt A wanted to leave it seems. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ball-League-interview-Why-I-left-Watford.html
Is this a pop at us from Redknapp? https://twitter.com/Tom__Ward/status/389716751543709696/photo/1 We had many players who did very well on loan TBF.
Maybe he has changed but very specificly with us he cost us points at home because he was lazy and did not chase back. He pi**ed around on the ball with players committed forward and lost the ball at which stage he chased the player back but gave up and stopped on the halfway line. You don't want players with that attitude on loan and I think about 7 clubs agreed with us including Ipswich who were managed by Roy Keene at the time and who stated on Friday night that he had issues with his defensive qualities at the time but assumes that now he has improved. I think that is probably right but time will tell.
There were those who said that the club would lose it's soul when the Pozzos came in. I suspect that the opposite is true when I read this. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/131025-supporters-say-1133427.aspx Looks as if Anya, Deeney and Doyley will be playing Monday, although Abdi is not certain to. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10762279.Zola_says_Deeney_s_returning_to_form/
Zola 8/1 for the Palace job - hope its just a case of linking a big name person with a Premier league job.. BTW Looks like one of our former goalies is going back to his roots. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24670325
http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/131030-nosworthy-pre-u21-fixture-1143429.aspx? Strange that you have over age players. Might get a game yet.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...tion_against_anyone_caught_using_smoke_bombs/ I cannot say that I am sorry. They might be fun unless you get hit on the back of the head with one.
The rumour site had a good rumour today. Matej Vydra is to stop his loan at West Bromwich Albion as he is not playing and return to us.
