Very impressive for a goalkeeper to get nominated for a Player of the Month award. Can't see him winning it though. Poch might have a chance of winning.
Having looked at the performances that have led to the protagonists being put up for the award, I concede that Wenger's 100% success record may just swing it set...though I think there should be extra points for cuteness (totally unbiased mode).
Realistic piece about Artur here from Matthew Nash, who occasionally gets things a little skewed, but this time has hit pretty much all the nail heads, http://hereisthecity.com/2013/10/07/from-bottle-thrower-to-top-stopper-southamptons-artur-boruc/ BTW, I think Ramsey will get the players award as the pundits have glowing about him since the season started, but Poch is definitely in with a huge shout for the managers award.
Which presumably means that to get Saints into 7th at the end of September was nothing spectacular after all. So I suppose being in 4th is a bit ho-hum, as well.
No real argument with the awards...well deserved, but, as I said, if the manager award is solely for points gained then award it automatically. Unless two managers have identical points don't bother to even suggest there are rivals.
