Was just looking at the 2nd screen installation thread and with people saying its going to be in the corner between the south and west stand or between the south and east stand. Got to thinking. how come we dont have any of the stands named after notable players/fugres of HCAFC Past? Is it because in relative terms the stadium is still quite new or bewcuase its a shared stadium with the egg chasers If you could name the stands, what would you name them?
West the Fray Bentos Stand East the Heinz Soups Stand South Farleys Rusks Stand North Greggs sausage Rolls Stand Concessions'l go through the roof. I'm hungry now.
Unfortunately apart from Adam Pearson, the only 'personality' associated with us and the rugby teams is one Tim Wilby.
The Jan Knoss Family Stand should be seriously considered. It has a strong local connection and has a nice ring (no pun intended) to it.
Because Hull FC play at the KC too so unless they're joint name for each stand, for example at FC games they call it the "Clive Sullivan East Stand" but at Hull City games it would say, "The Ken Wagstaff East Stand" etc. I think the usual suspects for being named after a stand would be: Nick Barmby Dean Windass Stuart Elliot Ken Wagstaff Chris Chilton Warren Joyce Tony Norman
