A player like Michu eyeing a spot on the World Champion teams defense in Brazil is not the last thing we want.

When my youngest boy came to me with the news on his iphone, he was beaming with delight, and I must admit, that to see Michu playing alongside the likes of Iniesta and Xavi brought a big bright smile to my face too, there can be no better deserved player than Michu, and his call up is well deserved, really am pleased for the lad!.................<ok>

Delighted for him. True recognition of Michu's development and performance last season and so far this season. And, most importantly recognition of the Club that we play in a style that is complimentary to Spain's - this would enable all of our Spanish players to slot into the Spanish squad if selected. It's also confirmation for the likes of Amat, Alavarez and Pozeulo that they have not cut themselves off from international consideration by coming here.

Great news and well deserved for a great player. I just hope this isn't a token gesture because I believe that Michu will bring an intensity to the Spanish team which, of late, I feel it needs. They need to give him a few games, make him feel that he is a genuine part of the team and they will reap huge benefits - as will we when he gets back.

Michu Will leave us sooner rather than later IMO so for that reason its fantastic to know he got his chance for spain by playing for swansea, in all honesty its total fantasy Stuff ! Our player picked to play for the greatest international team of all time..it really nettets belief doesnt it ?

No matter what happens with michu he Will always remember us as the club that gave him his proudest moment,we Will always have a place in his heart just for that,it may make him want to stay a bit longer Even?

It Will also raise our profile in spain Even higher, swansea Will be the place to go for many spanish players because of this.

Negredo apparently considered a move to the swans in the summer,David villa had a Think about us too, fabregas tæster how much he loves our play, van persie cant speak highly enough of us , it makes me swell with pride to be mentioned in the same sentence as These world stars but now we have one of our own making the step up because of what he did with a swan on his cheast!

Totally amazing, im so proud of michu and the swans for this ;)

He could start for them. Here he is wearing Villa's number 7 shirt in training and making scoring past Casillas look easy (experts in non verbal communication can read what they want into Del Bosques reaction, but to me he looks like he let a little bit of wee out)
Michu looks like he has made himself at home already!

Will he be included once Spain sort Diego Costa out?

Great for him though, if he was still in Spain it'd have happened already.

Why not. Villa will be looking towards his 33rd birthday by the time of the World Cup, so who is to say if Michu plays well, the shirt doesn't stay with him? By all accounts, the average "Jose" in Spain would rather see a Spaniard start than a non national like Costa. It all depends if Michu takes his chance. If he does, I would rather be in Michu's position rather than Costa's.

I disagree about if he had been in Spain he would be there already. Not one other Spanish (or British/European) club fancied him for £2 million and there were no calls for him to play in the national team just 12 months ago. He would have been playing as a midfielder for the last year at Rayo and not ever been played as a striker/false 9. Your comment is quite disrespectful to Laudrup and Swansea City for one who professes to have the force (the dark side of envy seems to have gotten hold of you)

No worries DP, here is a link direct to Spain HQ which has all the goss and is quite cool. Checkout their facilities. I wonder if the FAW website is similar (NOT!)
    http://www.sefutbol.com/en/news

It is official. The most prized posession in Spanish football has been awarded to Swansea City's Michu. The mythical number 7 La Roja shirt has been passed from Morientes to Raul to Villa and now a Jack Bastard wears it (un-feckin-believable Jeff)

Just seeing his name in that line up makes me feel all squiggly inside!

Congratulations to Miguel, who will be doing the press conference tomorrow around midday,

Sorry, my comment was taken the wrong way... I meant that he should have been called up last season but wasn't...for his work at Swansea. Don't be so defensive!

The ways of the force are difficult for some so young, much training they will need!..................<laugh>
