How can a team finishing 4th in the league be crowned champions?

They should go back to having a Premiership competition like the old days which was the third best prize (behind the league and challenge cup)

    Huddersfield are the champions surely?

    Are you a Septic?

Otherwise there's no defense for your spelling.

Imagine if the 4th placed team in the Prem then were crowned champions.

Imagine if the team that finishes sixth in the Championship could get promoted.

There's a massive difference between being promoted for coming third and actually winning a league after coming fourth, it's a very odd arrangement.

Fair enough, but that still feels a bit unfair when it happens.

Well said Sir! We are on our way to see the NRL final where 4 beating 1 to win the Premiership could be repeated here in Sydney. Will be in a sellout crowd of over 83,000 so tune in and watch and I will give you all a wave! It is the only NRL match I attend every year but I do watch all the weekly televised Super league matches.

I did watch the recorded match of Hull City v Aston Villa over breakfast this morning too!!

As far as I know, football is the only code of football in the world which doesn't use a play off system to decide it champion, both Rugby codes, American football, Aussie rules and plenty of other sports use pay offs.

The nrl grand final has been quality, hopefully the Rosters can hold on.

Just watched the game live over here, didn't spot you in the crowd though !
If you didn't get a good view of that spectacular last try by the Roosters in the ground or on the big screens, make sure you try to see a recording when you get home. I don't know how the lad managed to get the ball down to score - brilliant.

Thank you for that. We were at the front of the upper tier on the side almost opposite where the try was scored. Over 20 cameras covered the match and I waved a lot!

Unlike the Super League grand final the team which finished first in the season won the Premiership.

We have been to every Grand Final since we arrived here in 1968 and have yet to see our adopted team win( Cronulla Sharks) They have played twice in the GF but lost out both times to Manly. Rivalry between supporters of Cronulla/ Manly is intense - similar I suppose to Hull City/ Leeds United- so happy to see a Roosters victory.

Imagine if the 4th placed team won the "Champions" league.

Imagine if two teams who were not initially in a competition contested its final.
