Remember - each of the players DID something that was pivotal (in Broad's case he stood his ground and scored crucial runs)
What did Chris Rogers, David Warner and Stuart Broad do which was pivotal in the last Ashes series? So far: Broad refused to walk Guesses: Chris Rogers scored his maiden Test hundred David Warner walks off after being caught and after a fruitless referral
Neither guesses correct Ron. What did Rogers do that Broad did not? What did Warner do before a ball was bowled?
I'll give you those lamby. To sum up: Broad stood his ground and scored a further 37 runs after the Umpire failed to give him out when he clearly edged the ball to slip. England won that test by 14 runs. Warner hit Root whilst in a bar earning himself a 2 match suspension. Warner is one of Australia's best batsmen, had he played in those first 2 tests the results may well have been different. Rogers was given out lbw, one of the worst umpiring decisions I have seen for a long time as the ball was never going to hit the stumps, yet Rogers chose to walk rather than review. Australia were reasonably comfortable at that time at 60-1 but his dismissal triggered a collapse and the Aussies were bowled out for 126.
The Lost Stradivarius and The Nebuly Coat are two of John Falkner’s three published novels. Which work, published in 1898, is the third?
The Military march by Kenneth Alford 'Colonel Bogey' is well known. a) What was his real name, and why did he change it? b) Why and how did he write it?
a) F J Ricketts - changed so he could carry out commercial activity (Military officers could not normally carry out this sort of work) b) Whistled notes on a golf course by a golfing partner (probably a Colonel, hence the name) led to Ricketts expanding it into a full march
Correct. Bogey referring to how bad the colonel was at golf. It would seem the posh have equalised. Over to you Pete. I was hoping that one may have lasted until tomorrow morning at least
Born in Australia in 1934 I was very popular in the UK but I am rarely seen there now. I am still popular around the World, though I have never been to the USA. Whilst I am brown and white, I am dressed in green. I am delicious when re-hydrated, providing energy for generations. So go, go, go and discover my identity.
