Victor Moses has had a good start to his LFC career and its interesting to see how his role has already evolved within the team.

In his first few games Moses was played as an orthodox winger creating badly needed width in a team that was quite narrow. Since the injures of Johnson and Ford we has changed the formation to 3-5-2, 3-5-1-1 with wing backs either Henderson or Sterling taking over from Johnson on the right. In this formation Moses has been playing much more centrally behind the 2 front men with the width coming from the wing backs. Essentially he has taken over Fords role being the link up man between CM and SAS.

Many of us said that our form would suffer without Ford as he is our most creative midfield player, but its good to see that Moses has taken up this role in midfield. He's had to evolve his game a bit in the last few games and he's never going to be as good as Ford there, but we have been more creative in the last 2 games even if it has been against the bottom 2. It will be interesting to see how he does against sterner opposition and how the team will change once Ford is back.

I think Moses has a habbit of trying to run too much at times, similar to Johnson even, and risks going down blind alleys.

Good player who offers a slightly more direct style at times instead of the tippy tappy passing around the box so always has the option to mix it up.

He'll likely be a bench option when Coutinho comes back - depending on which formation we use though. Good bench option to have!

Moses, is the closest thing that we have had to an effective winger for years. We now know that he is not a Number 10 and never will be. Once Coutinho is back it will be very interesting to see the formation choices that Rodgers makes.

  4. BR said its a 3412 system <ok>

Yes we've won a couple without Coutinho but we've also lost two a drew one!

Maybe Brendan sees him as a false winger, or even a false 10. Personally I see him as a winger, or a false, false winger, as Brendan would call him.

  7. Wingers normally wear numbers seven or eleven so maybe BR will compromise and call him a number nine <whistle>

Until he starts calling the keeper 1 and a half or a false keeper, we're golden <ok>

  10. That's what I was getting at. Studge and Suarez can both play as a nine or a ten so he compromised.

Impressed with Moses - he will run down blind alleys from time to time (happens to all wingers) but he will also make great runs with pace and power. He did brilliant for our first goal where he on the right hand side of the pitch, turned back and switched it to the left hand side to Luis (great pass with the outside of his boot).

Should have scored a couple but he's always drives into the box and gets into the right positions. <ok>

I'm still not convinced that Moses is good enough.

Not as the number 10, but he's definitely a more effective winger than Sterling and Ibe (at this moment in time). If anything, he'd be great impact sub.

definitely agree. And Clearly CAM position doesnt suit his skill set (ie pace and crossing ability).

Proper winger. Riera was good - people forget this because he turned out to be an arse.

Would like us to sign him for the options.

Good shout - he gave us balance on that left hand side. We were screaming for a winger and he was decent.

It's amazing how the most 'uninspiring' of players can complement a team and it's structure ...

moses needs another month to get really up to speed. I think mourinho ignored him preseason. I think he looks down on where i'd want him to be from previous seasons. Bascially not yet justifying a 10mil fee if we were allowed to buy him for that.

    He can do better.

I think he's not good in this 5-2-3... sorry mr rodgers but calling it anything else is plain wrong.
