The lads giving out leaflets found that 90% of people took one, but when people were stopped and asked their thoughts(by WHCR) about 70% were supportive, the other 30% thought Assem had done so much for us that we should let him do what he wants.

If that's true, what's the problem? You have MASSIVE support.

I don't think the level of support is anywhere near those figures.

It might not be, maybe those who are against the campaign didn't want to speak out on air, I'm not suggesting these are concrete numbers, it's just the reaction we're getting and that's all we've got to go on.

I never been anything but supportive of the campaign. I am still supportive of it, but I feel that it is not possible to reach the people who sit near me. And that is a major hurdle.

So I am afraid that you will need to surprise me, because unless you can devise a way to really engage the West Stand, you don't or should I say we don't stand a chance.

I should add that I do not dismiss the hard work that the group has done. It simply saddens me that your fine efforts at the 1904 had no effect around those near me.

To me the campaign is still in its early stages. Some people need convincing we are not anti-Allam, some think it'll never happen, some don't like singing, but the majority are sympathetic to what we're trying to do. Many of whom sit in the West Stand, some with their blanket and flask. There's still away to go.

I only mentioned that in relation to the campaign because Amber Nectar tweeted about it and seemed pretty pleased about it.

They're on this campaign group aren't they?

im pretty sure most campaigns/protests in history started with a few loud voices looking around at people with their hands in their pockets
Im sure these people wondered why they couldnt see what they could / feel what they felt etc etc .

Not actively supporting the campaign doesn't mean apathy, I care about our team and spend many hours each day thinking about them, whether we're called City or Tigers on headed paper doesn't really matter to me, we will always be Hull City to fans. We've had four promotions since we came to the KC after 19 years without one. We're on the crest of a wave, can't get myself too wound up about change. The game is constantly evolving and needs to, to survive, we should be more concerned about the lack of British players in the game, at least City are doing their best to address this.

By all means raise your concerns, hand out leaflets, complain on threads, and have your right to democracy, but allow others who feel less strongly than you to have their right to focus on the team and what happens nor he pitch.

But its not just the headed paper. We'll be Hull Tigers on the league tables, Hull Tigers on the Billy Bly trophy and if we win the League Cup or the FA Cup the name on it will be Hull Tigers.

Finally we'll be Hull City to some fans but not all. Over time the vast majority of our fans will call us Hull Tigers because that'll be our name, unless it gets changed to something else.

Some of who? The committee? The volunteers? Those who oppose the name change? Hull City fans in general?

It does mean apathy to the issue of changing our clubs name. Caring for and supporting the team is a seperate thing, everyone can support the team whilst having differing views on many other things.

When things are constantly evolving its good to hold on to something that links the present and the future with the past.

My understanding is upwards of 15000 leaflets have been given out?? 90% of people protestors talk to are aware and support the protest. Yet the 19:04 thing didnt work at all. The singing was no louder for that song. Didnt look as though most of the East Stand held up the leaflets. I looked all the way down West Stand and i could see at best a dozen holding it up out of how many thousand?
The An board has been near silent since the match as it has on here and CI. What next?

What's wrong with fans beig apathetic about this? Some people really won't care, they may prefer the name not to chance, they might not give a monkeys at all, but they're allowed to be apathetic if they want. No one says they have to care or have an opinion. I don't see why apathy is getting under campaigners skin.

Obi, I asked before but you completely ignored me, do you have enough under command around the ground or soldiers using match day tickets to spread any small groups of singers (just one or two people) around the stadium to help encourage more to join in with the 19:04 thing?

Also, if the hold up the leaflet thing is going to carry on (if its affordable, it should, far more people held up a leaflet than they did sing) the leaflets NEED to be made with an amber front, as the black is just invisible at any slight distance and you really can't tell people are actually holding anything up at all.

Maybe hand out balloons to be blown up and thrown around in the stands at 19:04 every game?
