Probably, but Wenger was a bit reluctant to gamble and go for the win, which is a bit of surprise, as Wenger's mentally is normally always to go the three points.
My take on today: 1. Wenger set the team up wrong. Why play the best CM in the league (on current form) on the wing, when we have a perfectly capable winger on the bench? 2. Why play 2 DM's against a mid-table side? Flamini and Ramsey would have dealt with any issues, no need for Arteta today 3. Why bring on Bendtner, who has no match fitness at all? I don't care how bad Giroud was today, he's still better than that fat, talentless, pitiful lump 4. Why not use Gnabry against Ridgewell? He's a CB playing as a fullback, Gnabry's pace would have destroyed him.
Decent point. WBA away is a hard game and while I'd have liked all 3 points a point is a fair enough result. Still keeps the momentum going
I really don't see why Rambo was shunted outside, when on current form, he should be the first name on the teamsheet, in his correct position.
They can for the bigger games, but we probably need pace on the wings if we play those two in the middle.
5 CMs playing was never to give variety in our play. I admit I suggested resting Ramsey due to games played and games coming up, so would have had Rosicky or Gnabry on the wing. Other than that I think the ref had the worst game of everyone on the pitch. Apparently you can play the player before the ball now. And why do the "impartial" Sky pundits look so disappointed?
Anyway, hopefully after the international break, we get Cazorla and Walcott back. Looking forward to seeing Cazorla and Ozil in the same team. Good luck, Norwich.
Was wired, also that **** Long was holding the back of his head, when Kos did not even touch him there.
Perfect analysis of what we did wrong tactically. However, I'm not too disappointed with getting a point away at WBA. Perhaps we could have won the game if we'd done the things you said.
We could have won the game if Giroud had taken one of his chances, so even though we botched the team selection, if we had a better CF, we still would have won.
That too. He didn't do well today but his season is still a positive overall IMO. It's falling quickly into mediocrity though, so that could change if he doesn't buck up. If we can get a top CF in January we should, but I doubt there will be many available then.
Agreed he didn't play too well today. Needs to improve and quickly, too inconsistent, has a good game followed by a poor one too many times.
