Good game, thanks for the 2nd goal :)

We played with practically 10 men because our left back Daniel Fox is worse than s***e and I thought you should of used Dyer even more than you did. He was unlucky with that one which hit the post and he put in some fair deliveries and I'm happy Boruc had a real solid game.

Osvaldo coming off injured clearly swung the momentum in your favour and we were hanging on until that 2nd.

Shelvey thinks he is Steven Gerrard with his Hollywood passes, but bar the odd couple that went well it was more Anthony Gerrard.

Pleased with our man Pochettino who got us to play the ball forward early up to Lambert and Osvaldo who were winning the aerial and physical battle. Lallana was our star man today and gave Davies all kinds of problems.

Bony was a real handful but his finishing did not match the rest of his game.

Best wishes for the rest of the season and it was nice to play a team who didn't play anti football tactics like west ham and Sunderland

He's reminding me of David Luiz at the moment. It's as if somebody is controlling him with a PS3 controller <doh>

Disagree in part with this post. Amat and Chico were both poor today and conspired to gift both goals so I can't understand why Amat is so deserving of praise whilst Vorm who had little to do and wasn't to blame for the goals gets it in the neck. Really don't get it, NJ. Sorry.

However, I do agree with your comments about Chico actually believing his hype. Our players need to start doing the simple stuff well instead of looking for the Hollywood plays all the time.

At the moment I really feel for Bony. What an absolutely thankless task he has in this team. Balls are fizzed into his feet that he's expected to control instantly, whilst not a single player we have can consistently cross the ball onto his head.

Agree KJ, this is why we need a Beckham type winger in the team to cross the ball into him. With some decent crosses he will bang in the goals for fun.

I don't think we can blame our back line completely as it was a team effort that failed in the first 30 minutes, why we are always so ponderous in starting our games is beyond me, we always need a minimum of 20 minutes to get up to speed, and quite often by then we have conceded a goal, as we did again today.

My concern is the fact that teams are now starting to work us out, and press us high up hard and fast, and know we always start to show the jitters at the back, we simply couldn't live with Southampton in the first 30 minutes, which is when the damage was done, they had a tempo that was twice as fast as we were, so it was only a matter of time before we conceded a goal, anyone with half a brain could see it coming.

I said to my sons before kick off, that we were not going to win this game, with the way we are playing at the moment, we are far too slow, and that was clear too in the Euro game mid week. Southampton showed to all teams that if you press and get in the face of Swansea, they crumble, and huff and puff to get back into the game, and that is going to be an issue that Laudrup will have to address.

You go on about our defense Norway, but our midfield was poor also, Routledge gave the ball away endless times first half.................<ok>

I did say about routs in the first half over on the match thread dragon.

Point is though it wasn't the midfield making critical errors and costing goals. first half they were poor in patches but second half it was one way traffic, 2/3rds of our team is dam fine ! Bony worked hard today and did a lot of off ball work, in fact he was far more influential than Michu .

I don't blame the midfield for the loss I blame the defending , pure and simple. Our defending is costing us vital points and daft errors are happening far too often for it to be a coincidence , it is a worry for me I have to say.

As I write west ham are doing spurs 0-2 at the lane, we are going to have to battle this season if we want to stay up, I think the players are believe the hype <ok>

Didn't see the game (Peruvian TV showing Chelsea) but was surprised at the selection. Given defensive frailties I would have though Britton and Canas sat in front of the back 4 would have been more sensible with Shelvey on the bench

Agree. don't really want this thread de=railed either, there is a lot of things to talk about and a Cardiff red wumming isn't really keeping things on track.

Bony has 6 goals so far this season, like I said more than the entire Cardiff front line, that is something the wum cant quite get his head around. He will be asking us about the players bonus system next he's that dull ....<laugh>

Well a lot of them over there were convinced they would win yesterday. Kind of puts Old Sparkbum' predictions into a flat spin. <laugh>
