Okay, £18m (up to£24m) for Bent.

Lets say £13m + waste of space for Henderson

    £30m TV money

    Total £61m

Lets see what ambition the club actually has despite these latest actions to the contrary.

Quinn sells a good story and Bruce talks like a manager with a plan.

We will all see come the ends of the transfer window just what this all equates to in terms of players and squad for the coming season.

Lets just say early signs are frighteningly short of the standards required (N'zog is a disastrous target/buy) but as so many here have an undying faith in everything turning out right in the end, we shall reserve judgement as to whether we will put together a squad capable of survival in a 5th season in the top flight. We are nowhere near it currently IMO.

£61m in your pocket gentlemen. Now off you go and prove the doubters wrong.

If people didn't make judgements when they see something happening Syd we may as well all go do something constructive with the summer and meet back here for the start of the season!

Doing y'self out of a job here buddy!

This, and the Bent money MUST go on quality.

N'Gog looks a poor buy but i'll give him a chance, i was against Welbeck initially.

We need to get the Larsson deal sealed, and we need to move NOW, as this sale will have people looking at us as a selling club, we need to PROVE this is not the case.

If we have valued N'Gog at any more than £5million, we have raped ourselves.

    There's my 50p.

I'll reserve my judgement untill we find out the details of the deal. What worries me is the message we are sending out, If our ambitions is to remain a mid table, flirting with relegation team then we are going the right way about it by selling our best players (although alot of our fans slated the lad for most of last season). Have we become a selling club? our do we have ambitions (as Quinn keeps stating) to move on. We'll just have to wait and see what players we bring in as I believe Bruce is on borrowed time and as for filling the stadium enough said. IMO we have been ripped off with the Jones/Bent and if to be believed now Henderson deals.

I've never heard such an outcry since we signed Bramble!
The point being that people should judge performance rather than reputation!

    Bizzare / gyans

Disappointing reply if a little expected from 2 of the blinkered brigade.

If you found Quinny doing your lass in the front room when you came in from work, you wouldn't complain if he said it had to be so.

I prefer a debate with people who have their OWN opinions and not ones the club tell them they have to have

"Thank **** your not at the helm" and "shut up cest your boring" are observations not arguments.

I'll have a debate with people who have some independent thought and can back their stance up with reasoned argument but I'm not going to take horse-**** from the club and then try and pretend it smells lovely.

Some fans will quite happily take it up the chuff from the club and agree with any old ****e fed them. If ANY fan can stand up and say with hand on heart, that today we still look like an ambitious club, after selling Bent and not replacing him (or replacing him with a total flop and then pay £7m for him) and cashing in on one of the best young prospects in the country for a paltry £13m cash, then **** me twice for being a sceptic.

I've seen this game plan for failure from EVERY other chairman/owner for the past 4 decades. I just didnt expect to see Quinny cashing in on assets and then trying to tell us the second rate replacements are top drawer. I expected nothing else from Cowie and we all know aboutn Murray but Quinny?

We're not mugs and we can smell bull **** from 50 miles away.

you keep bringing up this 7mill, no one knows yet and the latest i heard it was 16.5 for hendo and 3.5 for ngog (which is a canny deal if you ask me) and ngog still may not come yet, which means a straight 20 million for Hendo.

First of all I do believe the price was something in excess of 16 million plus player!
Secondly, is this the same Henderson who was the scapegoat for a good deal of last season due to his inconsistant performances and dreadful dead-ball deliveries?
My opinion has not changed regarding Henderson: I believe that he has shown potential and could yet become a very good player. However, if the reports I have heard are right that he was only willing to stay if we paid him 60 grand a week, then I believe the club were right to sell him.

Me too also, as my missus says, IMO, were going backwards, and wont spend any money on decent, thrill me to bits players, sad to say FREDDIE SHEPPARD would have, and I hate to say that, he wanted success, and before the plums say what success? what a team Ginola/sir les Ferdinand/Albert/Tino/Given/Shearer etc, and we are getting Brown the sicknote, and another Murphy. the mind ****in Boggles. nice one Brucie. any wedge in this?

Where did those reports come from exactly?

If he was offered £60k per week by Liverpool then why should he not ask SAFC to match it anyway. I would at work and so would you.

However, the question is not whether to sell him or not (and I have been a huge supporter of the lad throughout his bad spells as well) its what deal did we get. Straight cash £20m is value for money for the club. Any deal that involves the failed parcel of ****e N'Gog that reduces the cash paid, is a shambles from the club IMO.

Why would we want a player that has only scored 5 goals more than Phil Bardsley in the last 3 years and before the argument he has been on the bench for most of that time, ask yourself WHY was he on the bench in a very ordinary Liverpool team? Because hes ****e that's why. He is the new Anthony le Tallec and the reds ****ed us over on that one as well. They must think we are just a bunch of thick Muppet's up here and will take any old ****ty player they decide.

He's only 21 now, so to get on the Liverpool bench at the age of eighteen is surely an achievement in itself!
I'm not saying that NGog is going to be the answer to all our dreams; but I am prepared to give the lad a chance to see what he can do.

was tenth our best finish for quite some time?

Was Bruce at the helm when Bent signed?

Have we not had our best performances and results against the top teams in living memory?(unbeaten in London this season I believe)

Have the players that have been brought in under Bruce not been the best (on paper) we have seen at Sunderland for some time?

Use any measurement you like but season on season we have improved.

The "Quinn raping you wife" analogy is a truly pathetic and desperate argument - your scraping the bottom of the barrel in trying to justify your stance.

The Bruce out brigade are boring and predictable, they are the first to stamp their feet and throw the rattle out of the pram when they don't get what they want - and if they did get what they wanted (highly unlikely)then 2 minutes later after a bad run no doubt they would want him out also.

You have never had it so good, we have the finances, management, owner & chairman in place ready to finally get somewhere and you so spoilt and blinkered or blinded by your own unrealistic ambition for the club you cannot see it.

Okay Hendo & Bent have gone, but Bruce also brought in Gyan & Sessegnon(& Muntari but it didn't work out).

Bruce deserves another season on his performance so far and if you believe anything else then its my opinion - if you consider the above - a)you don't really understand football ,do you or b) you just don't like Bruce fell stop or c) you have unrealistically high expectations and you need professional help or even an appeance on Jezza Kyle how

Hey if he comes to the club, like I always say, make me eat my words and I'll be a happy man but until that time, my assessment of a failed, hapless striker remains.

I've seen him miss chance after chance for Liverpool as a striker and he is as weak as a baby's piss as a target man too. Simply put, Liverpool have realised this and have looked for a mug club to offload him to.......... step up Sunderland AFC, the home to **** footballers everywhere.

The owners may change but the clubs 5 decades policy of abject failure remains firmly in place. Pathetic IMO.
