Comparing apples with oranges really, but for the record: Wanyama 27/37 (4/9 in the attacking third) Lallana 30/39 (10/15 attacking third) Osvaldo 8/11 (6/7 attacking third)
I said last week that he's clearly got technical difficulties, when he plays it simple he's usually fine if sometimes the passes are a bit soft. Thought he was good today and looks like he is trying to play within his limits, certainly he isn't dicking around with his back to goal in his own half anymore. Its disappointing that he isn't a natural creative passer of the ball but that's not a huge problem. If im being critical I think hes generally poor in possession even his touches and headers aren't very well directed but he's good defensively and does his job.
He's obviously keen, although a DVD would have been a damn sight cheaper and less time consuming. Mind you, a camera follows the action, and I expect he'd want to cast his eyes around the formation, as the game progressed.
I'm tired and grumpy so I'm gonna do the lazy arsehole thing of not bothering to read the thread, but instead asking about the game. Should I be pissed off but relieved, or elated that we're definitely finishing top four? Do we still hate Wanyama? Is Osvaldo still not worth the money? Is the Lovren/Fonte partnership still the best we've ever had?
If you mean what I think you mean, i.e. why was he subbed..? Then I understand it was to nullify Nathan Dyer, by bringing on Ward-Prowse. From the radio commentary I listened to, it was clear that Fox was finding Dyer too much to cope with, so Ward-Prowse was brought on to double up on him. From what I heard it worked.
1 - Relieved and elated 2 - No. He played well today. He's doing what he was bought to do. 3 - I'm sure some will say he isn't. He is, though he didn't have his best game. Ramirez wasn't even on the bench so the "waste of money/live up to price-tag" crowd will be too busy crowing about that than noticing Osvaldo. 4 - It's up there going by the statistics of the first 7 games.
