****ing ridiculous how Pardew carries on dropping Anita for Tiote. Yeah, Tiote was decent today, but there were plenty of times today were passes needed to be intercepted, and they weren't being intercepted. We could have used and intelligent interceptor.

Anita has done nothing to warrant being dropped, and I don't see in what way Tiote is better. Anita doesn't have the same physical presence as Tiote, but Anita makes up for that with his ability on the ball. His decision making is nearly always spot on, and his agility and dribbling skills far surpass Tiote's.

Tiote lost the ball in critical areas quite a few times.

Anita marks men off the ball far better, he cuts out passes better, he passes the ball better, and he's better on the ball.

When Tiote plays I'm constantly ****ting myself when he's in critical areas and trying to dribble. There's also times when we're backed into our final 3rd and under pressure, and Tiote just doesn't do the same sweeping up job as Anita.

**** off Pardew. That **** Tiote has had 2 years to sort himself out, and he should be a covering midfielder. Anita has the brains of Sissoko and Tiote combined times 5.

    Rant over.

I thought he would have brought on Anita fairly early on in the 2nd half when Cardiff were over running our midfield. I believe this would have nullified their superiority and got us back into the passing mode of the first half.
One of these days I hope to see our team play both halfs equally as good. God knows what goes on during the intervals.

I wouldn't have played Anita either. Cardiff are in the zone between Premier League and Championship quality, and the more physical presence of Tiote, especially away from home, was a shrewd tactical decision. Anita has no strength, and isn't the beef required for such a game. He must play when convenient, when we'll need incision more than solidity. It's just the safer option.

That's without taking into consideration the possibility of resting, or their respective performances in training.

he could literally **** on Anita's head before subbing him for all i care, NEWCASTLE WON.
if we didn't I would totally sympathize with your point like, but just enjoy winning, might be rare this season

To be fair I'd find it difficult to question Pards yesterday. It bothered me pre game (though I'd have dropped Sissoko not Tiote), but he got it bang on. Tiote was better than decent yesterday too, him and Cabaye were excellent.

Got to say I agree with Tash about the fact Anita shouldn't have been dropped, for the simple fact that I'm yet to be convinced that Sissoko and Tiote work in the same midfield, certainly need to work on it.

Tiote was very, very good yesterday. As hacky mentioned, pre game I was ****ed off but it proved to be a good call by Pardew.

Only worry was that we faded a bit in the second half but you're never going to control a full 90 minutes of any Premier League game.

First half was as good as we've been for about 12 months.

Williamson deserves praise too, his mistake for the goal but he spent the whole game talking Debuchy through the match. No coincidence that Debuchy had arguably his best game for us.

Sissoko was very poor, and should have been replaced with Anita in the second half, about 70minutes in

<ok> I think there is a case to be made for Sissoko being on the bench against Liverpool. Though with it being a big gun at home, he might be interested.
