With the 2 week international break starting surely today is the day to announce our new boss, giving him a good couple of weeks before his first game can only be a good thing. I know we will loose a lot of our players on international duty but get whoever in now and let's make a start, I don't see any advantage in leaving it another few days.

I'd rather take time to produce a 'Short' list, interview people, take advice and get the right man in.

Making a rush decision would probably mean Ball who, in my opinion, would be a disaster who'd be sacked and leave the club.

Many people claimed we rushed into appointing Di Canio didn't they.

We're all frustrated that so many good players can't be cobbled into a side that can do better but patience may well be a virtue in this case.

Patience ffs how long does he want we could be relegated at this rate before we get anyone. Getting too far behind and no one will want the bloody job. I expect to hear tomorrow and I don,t want it to be ball even though I do love him to bits

The problem is that this situation came totally out of the blue.

Usually, a club would be watching a failing manager, over time, and looking at & sounding out a possible replacement.

In this case it was so sudden we've had to start from scratch.

We may also be negotiating with a manager's current employer, in the case of someone like Jol who would be my choice.

This is usually the case however, I think in our case the alarm bells were ringing long before the axe fell. I would have thought a man with the business sense of Short would have had one eye on a Plan 'B', just in case.

Jol wold not be the answer at all. He's struggling with Fulham and there is a club with no pressures to bear.

If it's an employed manager, is sooner see Zola brought in.

I think it will be Pulis.

it wouldnt surprise me like, you would expect Ellis to have a constant plan B and C and D for that matter, on the other hand maybe this person has to work their notice??

Funny thing is our three worst players will be away on international duty, Oshea Westwood Larsson . Hopefully a good thing.

But Pulis struggled with stoke, well and truly his own team too. not to mention he lots the dressing room to player power and drink culture. I think he would relegated us. I'd rather keep Bally and get relegated, at least well go down to a better style of football.

Im certainly not saying I want Pulis but just I see him as a very viable possibility now given Shorts statement yesterday stating he thought that our EPL survival was more important than any longer term planning.

I would be happy to see Zola or Poyet although I accept their relative lack of managerial experience at the top level too and I am just not sure about some of the foreign names linked as I dont know enough about them.

I'd like to see Zola as I think he has a very infectious character and Watford are playing wonderful football; or Poyet who likewise had Brighton playing lovely passing football too. Pulis however plays 'effective' football and will maybe generate a quicker turnaround even though it will be dogshit to watch. He has organisational skills and grafts points which will keep us up the ugly way. Its not perfect but accetable under the present circumstancs perhaps.

Can Poyet or Zola do that? Graft points from day one? I just dont know but if I were giving the job to anyone, it would be the Italian or the Uruguayan if they could.
