I've compiled a quick comparison of how we are doing this season compared with 2010/11 and the average points required to get to 90 or 80 points. It looks good on all fronts. If we are aiming for 90 points we are currently 3 matches ahead of the game! That's impressive Roller, good work. I hope no one on here suffers from vertigo. This team have yet to play it's best football and I feel that we can still go up a few gears. I can only see us getting stronger and better.
Very quiet, I'm still the only one up in my household. I've been told that I would have been a considerable asset to Her Majesty in that capacity, but no. Maybe monthly, I think it would get a little dull after every match, but now the structure is in place it would be easy to. Cheers mate. If nothing else it shows that we haven't all got to panic after our first couple of defeats.

Its been a strange start this year. Normally an average of 2 points a game is enuff to win the league , as you said we won the league with 88 last time. This year 7 teams have an average of 2 or more. Last year this league was a lot closer. This year I can see the top 6 pulling away and a High amount of points needed to finish top 2. The only club i can see pushing top 6 that aint there at the moment is wigan. They have a strong side but are not gelling yet, happy to see them drop points at moment. In comparison to 3 years ago we went on a run of drawing quite a few soon, and we only got 62 points from final 36 games, i think this current side will do better than that. The nice thing at the moment is points in the bank and almost getting to situation where top 6 is a formality.
After nine games of the 2010/11 season Warnock's team also had 23 points and only 2 goals against, but a GD of +22.
We're still level with three years ago: 26 points from 10 games. That season, we then went on a four game drawing run. Considering we've now got three away games on the trot, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened again.
That wouldn't necessarily be that bad. Worse case scenario is that we lose all of our next three games. That would leave us 26 from 13. Which is still an average of 2 points a game, and if we continued that average we would end up on 92 points. Of course, we aren't going to lose all of those three games though.
I can't take anything you post seriously mate due to your avatar. I always see that first and then what you wrote, and it always reads like a joke. Don't get upset, we're not going to lose this season so nothing from the next three games isn't possible. It was only a theoretical exercise.
We can draw the next 7 games and still have a better point average than what we ended up with last time we won the thing. I've been trying to tell you, it's a point average game about getting promotion, it might be boring but it helps me focus. Draws are not the end of the world with the start we've made. Our point average dropped alarmingly towards the end in 2010/11, mainly because of Faurlingate, but also from a lack of experience imo. This time around I'm positive we wont suffer from none of them. Therefor having a great chance of keeping up the average point of aprox 2 points per game = promotion. See below.
seems to me in 2010-11 season we had a decline in form from game 20 to 26, only getting 8 points from 7 games (LLWWLDD), losing half of the games we lost all season. Did Mackie break his leg around that time? made me chuckle , for reasons not told . but still have no idea what a PAYE chart is...
In our promotion season we stuttered over the line rather than sprinted with a number of poor results in the run in, really after the AF affair surfaced. The next three games will really test our metal but I reckon we will remain unbeaten with wins at Millwall and Wigan and a draw at Burnley. We could be in trouble if Austin gets injured as we only have Chevanton, as yet promising but untested, as a backup.
Last ten games of the promotion season we only managed 15 points. That form throughout the season would have given us 69 points and 8th place. Also Chevanton as yet only contracted until Dec 24th.
