Well i wonder who the Eggo will have us lined up with next?. In the space of a week we have gone from affording/not affording Martin Oneil, number one choice Chris Houghton or number one choice Di Matteo/ Clarke / Robbins....Im guessing Sparkys the next one for the Breaking news section at WME. The facts are Oneil is fans and possibly boards dream pick, he was dead cert to take over at fulham and that post has been filled by Jol. Which leaves City 3rd on the list of top jobs available in uk football, Chelsea(Gus) and Villa(Raffa,Sparky,Carlo.) Martin Oneil would be more likely to rejoin Villa than be offered the job at kings road, so he is still available and we are still looking. Foolishly optimistic........i hope so.
I don't really want O'Neil. I think he will bring more of the same...he will demand high salary, and he will demand a lot of transfer money, and a lot of highly paid players. The Championship is a gamble every year. O'Neil may be too fastidious for us! If we were going to throw that much money around I would prefer we hunted Hughes though as i said, i don't really think we should go the high money route again!
Siam, as I mentioned before, no top Manager will come to City unless the board (The Malasians) guarantee a good sized war chest, because without it they will certainly fail, and they do not want their reputations damaged by failure (Any more than they may already be). The attraction of O'Neill and sparky is that neither of them was sacked, they walked of their own choice, so if we get them we are not getting another clubs cast-off. so that is why the calibre and standing of the person they appoint will tell us, the fans, something of the boards thinknig and intentions. If either of the 2 I mentioned come I think we can safely assume they have a good bit of cash to flash or they wouldn't be here. Just my thoughts. Lets see. KTF
Media talking up Hughton to be Jol's no.2 at Fulham as I suggested yesterday. Does he want to be top man in a slightly smaller club (with great capacity for growth) or second in line at a Prem club but not likely to get much better than last year's 9th unless Al Fayed splashes a lot more cash? The second role, fairly comfy and out of the firing line. The first one a risk but with great rewards and status if successful. So, assuming Hughton is the board's choice (not guaranteed I know), is he a man or a mouse. We shall see.
Here's Malky http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Cardiff-ready-to-pay-Watford-300k-for-manager-Malky-Mackay-to-replace-Dave-Jones-article745385.html OK, I know it's the Mirror but lack of any news is doing my head in
That would do me, wouldnt mind Hughton who seems to be the fav but not particularly excited by him coming here.
Okay, so the choice is McKay, Robins, Hughton, Di Matteo, Hughes, O'Neil, Tisdale, anyone else. Got the makings of a reasonable team there as well. Any goalkeepers applied?
latest odds: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/cardiff-specials/next-permanent-manager Where the hell did Shearer spring from?
I'm suprised that WoL havn't reported that Cheryl Cole is interested in the job yet, unless that's tommorows "Breaking News" from the WoL clowns.
Dead right what was said about Hughton earlier. If he takes the Number 2 job at Fulham rather than the Number 1 job here, it would really tell us something about him. As time has gone on I really think if Hughton says he wants to come....then he will be our next manager. Allan Shearer hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahah...................
