So are we going to have a vote on a new mod then? Simon seems to be continuing his best Lord Lucan impression, and isn't exactly helping Elland and Bucks with the workload. This has been highlighted today by a few posters kicking off and a thread being closed. Clive was banned despite always keeping his counsel and behaving in a dignified manner in the face of verbal abuse by a baying mob who disagreed with his views on McDermott. The reason given was the extra work created for the mods with the constant putting out fires caused by his sometimes antagonistic threads. So if this means had we had three fully operating mods Clive would not have been banned, why the hell has another mod not been installed? Personally I don't agree with banning anyone, let alone someone who wasn't abusive in the slightest. He should have his ban lifted and we should have a vote on who should replace Lord Lucan
I think the mods on here do a great job and two should be enough in all honesty however... If I do have one gripe it is that I have only seen one person getting OTT with the abuse today and the message should have gone out to that ONE person not a general sweeping comment. I would have to also challenge your comment LIE it wasn't a FEW it was one
To be fair, he is not normally like that. Today's result didn't help, and we all have bad days. Let's drop it and move on.
The thread is premature. Simon is a good mod. Just because he is not as active, doesn't mean we should dethrone him. If he, Bucks or I stood down we'd let the board know, and I'm sure a vote would take place, and a decision would be made. I take on board what you are saying about the ban-gate.
I know he's not normally like that, he's a good lad. The more passionate views the better. Just don't agree with Clive getting banned, seeing as he wasn't abusive, he just annoyed the more sensitive souls on here. Some threatened to not post on here anymore if he wasn't banned. Should've ****ed them off out of it instead
LiE, I'm a little uneasy that he got banned, tbh, however he did infuriate a lot of posters. Mods have a responsibility for all posters as well as the general health of the board, so it's perfectly within their remit to act as they see fit. If you disagree with the mods' decision, open a thread to take a vote on it! That's actually what I tried to achieve by opening my thread - to get a general consensus (but failed). I spent hours trawling through threads that almost seemed identical to the last one by the time I got to the end of it. He turned almost every thread to his agenda. I have no idea what motivated him to do it. I did try to engage him, but he absolutely refused to answer any questions, and responded by spouting, spouting, spouting. That too is not in the spirit of the board. It's a discussion board, not a 'let's all play my game all the time with my rules' board.
The Moderators are there for a reason and they made a decision (collectively I presume) and decided Clive was causing more trouble than it was worth so I stick by them on that decision. The tapatalk app for this site could do with improving though
