Soon after the tragic death of Buddy Holly a song written by two members of Buddy's group The Crickets was recorded but not under the name of the Crickets. What was the name of the group and the song? Name two artists who subsequently covered the song. (There was a piano/violin cover of the song but no need to identify that). And finally, one of these cover versions was subsequently re-covered by yet another artist; who was that?

What's the problem Maestro? It looks grammatically correct to me so I'm not sure how to clarify it.

Incidentally I bought the 45rpm record when it came out so I know what what was on the label. You could all be struggling with the name of the group as I can't see any reference to it on Google. Tricky eh.

And one of those versions you mentioned Pete, was subsequently covered by who? I doubt anyone will get the name of the group on the label as it is only shown on Google as the Crickets (unless you have really good eyesight). You could make a good guess though.

Blame an ex-girlfriend - she was made about Leo Sayer, though he was never my style I heard the song often enough! :emoticon-0101-sadsm
(Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd for me in that era)

Sammy Kershaw covered in the 90's, the Shawdows also did an instrumental version just after Leo Sayer

No but I thought someone would come up with that. The Crickets did make an album under that name and continued for a while but the original More Than I can Say was by the New Crickets. Why there is no reference to that on Google I don't know but I bought it so I know. Trying to think of the B side but it escapes me at the moment.

Anyway I think Pete did very well so Pete's go it is.

Baby My Heart was the B side. I have just seen some images showing that by The Crickets.

I wish I still had my copy. Might be worth something now.

I nice easy one for everyone.

Staying with the Crickets, well cricket anyway, what did Chris Rogers, David Warner and Stuart Broad do which was pivotal in the last Ashes series?
