For my sins, yes, in another previous life, I briefly dabbled in teaching. Moved on cos there was no progression path. Would never describe myself as a 'teacher', but I know what it is to prepare a lesson and deliver it front of a roomful of (usually) adults whose motivation varied from zero interest to full on enthusiasm. I found it OK after the first few months but then soon became restless for the career reasons stated above. I did less and less preparation as the scholastic year went on as I became very familiar with the 'knowledge' and the typical responses/difficulties of the students, so I concentrated on the testing and 'real time' end of it.

    Horses for courses, obviously.

Gove: makes me titter to see him winding up so many. 99% of politicians are dicks and he's no exeception. But console yourself with the fact that it could be much, much worse.....we might have ended up with someone like Caroline Flint or Dawn Primarolo, had things turned out differently <laugh>

How long ago did you ‘dabble’?

Not trying to pry just that demands have changed massively (since I’ve been involved) and are still changing – it’s ****ing fluid mate with heavy water pressure increasing workload overload.

Eh? Ive never made reference to how much I earn. My mother, father and best friends haven't got a clue how much I earn. I think you've got me mixed up with someone else there.

I was sure you did, in relation to McShane's wages (I've got a weird memory) - something like 'he earns a fortnight what I earn a year' (or words like that perhaps more subtle)

But if I am wrong, I'm always happy to apologise, so I'll take you on your word and say: SORRY.

I did say that but how is that saying what I earn when none of us know what Mcshane earns?!? He might earn 10k a week, I guess 70% of people in full time employment earn that in a year.

Whether it was correct or not, last season, it was widely thought that McShane earnt upwards of 20k p/w.

You will have been aware of that estimation of his wages.

Correct- in that that was what was quoted. He was given a 3 year deal at high tide in 2008/9 and it was north of 20k. He got a new one end of last season or close season, his 'improved form' in the previous months were not linked to that of course, no way.

And wrote it in the way a season is written. It certainly read like you meant the 2008/09 season.

You know that's how it looks and you're being pedantic.

I'm right, you're wrong, and if you try and disagree again then I'm telling on you.
