I loved Pav so much more than I should have done haha, I always forget how good he seemed to be for us in the cup games, when he hit a purple patch he just never stopped! Scored some important goals for us in the CL as well against Young Boys and Inter and the two stunners against Brum in the Prem. Always felt he got a bit frozen out at the end.

City 1-0 down at home to Everton. - lukaku the scorer.

What was mourinho thinking? After last seasons performances he deserved a chance at Chelsea. Good luck to him at Everton.

Oh, and now it's 1-1! V quick response from city.

Pav scored a volley at Bolton from an acute angle that was brilliant I think you lost that day and it got lost due to that, and another one I think against Fulham in the cup, just fantastic technique.

So? Mourinho should have told him that he was going to be heavily involved with the team this season, instead.
He's outperforming all of your strikers by a mile. The Whiney One wanted Eto'o in the set-up and it's looking like a poor decision right now.
If the Cameroonian goes on to rediscover his form and Lukaku has a good, productive season and then returns to the squad next year, then it's a good choice. If not...

He's a complete prick - I can't believe he posted up a picture of Zidane smoking on twitter in response to Wenger's not unjustified criticism. Pretty typical of a lot of English platyers these days.

I also think he's criminally over rated but that's another story.

Did ManC get a dodgy penalty and Everton not get one in the early kick off? Imagine that.

I swear when Fernandinho got the ball, Owen called him Paulinho a few times.

Genuine text and update from the BBC live feed:
4.43pm Geordie fan: Same old story Mr Pardew, always try to defend our lead instead of attacking . I can see a 2-2 draw.
4.44pm Substitution: A positive move by Alan Pardew as he brings on Hatem Ben Arfa for Yohan Cabaye. The midfielder has been impressive again today.

Haven't seen the game, but apparently Liverpool flagged badly again in the second half. Really starting to be an issue for them and could be something for opposition coaches to monitor.
I wonder what's causing it? Is it a fitness thing or are they trying to go flat out early doors and then feeling the pace?

It's hard to underestimate the value of an early goal. It kind of invalidates how the rest of the match goes! Pundits, who don't ever seem to want to look into anything deeply, will see a team play well initially and praise them for getting the early goal. If it's Liverpool they will then run a story of whether this makes them title contenders (note: not just top 4 contenders). But if you consider what they are saying, they are almost suggesting that no other teams have thought of getting an early goal. As if Liverpool have invented some kind of new tactic. Fact is sometimes you get an early goal, sometimes you get a goal that 9 times out of 10 wouldn't have gone in. But the analysis is always based on goals scored. So when the early or fluke goals stop going in they then run a story "where did it all go wrong?"

I posted after Everton almost let a 3-0 lead slip against Newcastle that they'd better watch out and now they lose and Newcastle win. To comeback from 3-0 down to almost draw shows a bit of character in the Newcastle set up. Everton lost to an unpredictable and weakish City so I expect Everton now to fall back a bit.
