Here, Here, well said Syd, fully agree with you.

After Christmas there were the usual crowd on here ranting on about how ****e Bruce was and he should go now to save the club, then we finish 10th and it's all forgotten about, or at least the Bruce out camp seemed to quieten down.

Just the other day there was some idiot on here prepared to get rid of Bruce cos of some rumour circulated by that geordie paper the Sunday Sun.

According to reports this morning we have agreed a fee of £20m for Henderson to Liverpool and it is (rumoured) that Ngog will come to us, although this is not confirmed yet.

I must admit that he isn't the sort of player i would have been looking to bring in, he wasn't on my wishlist for sure but it's only a rumour for now and who know's? he could turn out to be a decent player for us so lets see how the deal pans out before we start ranting again.

    That's not a fact. It's your opinion.
My opinion is we would have been top 8 without all the injuries. So tenth was IMO. Unfortunate.

    Liverpool fan in peace <ok>.

If the £20m fee is correct, then I'd expect to see £12-13m cash + Ngog to Sunderland. With inflated prices all around, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Ngog at 8m.

I'm slightly angry at the fact we've gone for another CM, despite his obvious quality, because we already have plenty of players in that department. Could anyone here tell me more about him? Like is he more of a playmaker, deep lying or attacking? etc..

As for the Ngog issue, you may have just stumbled upon the bargain of the season if you get him. Like cyprussydsafc said, 9 goals in 23 games. If you take the fact he's only 21, has improved a lot when he's played and is sure to improve further and the fact he was played as a second striker to Torres most games, then that stat is rather good.

I don't see why many of you are jumping on Bruce's case about this though, I know if someone came in with a £20m bid for Shelvey or Spearing I'd take it, and from what I can see Bruce is trying to rectify problems highlighted this season with injuries, that you could do with owning another striker, because when your strikers get injured you've got nobody to fall back on.

I think its the fans view that Hendo is best out wide on the right, great engine, can beat a man and cross a ball

A right winger? In that case, it probably justifies the fee we're paying as we're in desperate need of a couple of wingers.

Very disappointed as would be nice to have a local favourite. However, Colback and hopefully other in first team squad next season. I would like to know what percentage of 20Mil N'Gog represent before I judge value in deal. Am not going to blow my top before the window shuts and I see the finished squad we attack next year with though! Still bit hurt this morning.

As an outsider, it seems to me like decent business, you have sold two decent players but you have received more than decent money for them.

You just need to make sure you spend it well.

MR - I'd like to ask what your aims for the entire season were?? Had we staying in or around 6th place would you now be wanting Champions League as that would be the only improvement we could make.
We finished exactly where the SAFC fans asked bruce to get us to at the beginning of the season yet we still want him sacked.
We picked up 9 points from a possible 18 at the end of the season - not a bad end to the season all in all (i.e. 57 points over the course of the season if we win every other game)

My biggest issue with the Bruce Out brigade is that people often forget what we aimed for at the start of the season and want the manager sacking because of a slump due to a massive (biggest in the premier league over the course of the season) injury list - not an excuse - just a fact.

I will fully support N'Gog in a Sunderland shirt but feel that a lot of people on here will be booing his every mistake as they were Henderson towards the end of the season (I remember Henderson taking a shot and putting it over the bar in a game towards the end of the season - the crowd shouted "SHOOOOOT" and he shot and missed by some way, and the same people shouting that got on his back.

Bardsley did the same when he had better options to play a ball to someone out wide or in a better shooting position and everyone just laughed when he missed.

A lot of people would have accepted 10m (or less) for Henderson 6 months ago - we are looking likely to get 20m now so I don't understand the issue. Welbeck at Man U last season never looked that good but he looked excellent at Sunderland. (Not saying N'gog will be that level but he certainly has the potential)

Jordan is only one player and we need to look forward, and he wants to play in CM and we now have Sessiong (spelling), Myler, Colback, and Catts in there also you can add in Richardson so we have plenty of them.

I think the only way we have let Jordan go is we have been gien the heads up that Larson is going to sing for the right wing and we also have Elmo there.

We are very short on strilkers but now we have Gyan, and N'Gog and the building starts.

We all need to calm down and see what happens over the next two months.

Just thought I'd let you know - It's actually been reported on the Liverpoolfc.tv site now, so it's official. He's due to go in for a medical soon.

Good luck to Hendo. £20million is a ridiculous sum for a young player who hardly ever finds the net. Liverpool are desperate to improve on last season. Let's see where Sunderland's ambition lies...

The Crack is the deal is £ 20mill but N'Gog is not part of the deal as yet. If we decide to buy N'Gog then that will be taken off the £ 20mill. So we still might not sign N'Gog yet!!!

N'Gog is not worth the pen used for the signing of the worthless contract he may well sign. I am not saying £20m for Henderson is a bad deal at all.

£13m + a useless waste of space is a travesty and should have the hierarchy at SAFC hanging their heads in shame.

To say Liverpool have ****ed us up the proverbial and we have said thank you for the privilege, is not covering the anger I feel this morning.

Would you ever criticise the club though Syd. If they told you it was for the good of the club to chuck you out of a 5 storey window you'd probably be still quite happy (if Bruce or Quinn said that is).

Your constant defense of the manager is admirable but not the only train of thought. Praise when its due but don't just accept a bad deal if it is just that mate. you really cant think £13m cash and a worthless flop is a good deal for SAFC can you. Surely not.

    N'Zog yes. N'Gog christ no.

Agreed! For once (foolishly) I thought I may watch a local lad reach his potential with us, clearly not. The Ngog debacle smacks of desperation, we need a body and that is what he is. I wonder if Ngog was ever on Brucies radar before this deal was mooted???

I was never Bruce out at any point, but sadly I'm losing faith with a club that I think Is letting the fans down by promising ambition but selling talent. :(

pity you dont read all my posts cest or you would see I am critical of the club when I need to be. In this case I thin k the Henderson move was the right one for everyone, the fee was high and I have an open mind on Ngog. So all in all why would I be unhappy
