Nah dropping HBA is fine. He is our best player on occasion but has barely turned up since curling that ball in. Instead of sugar coating these ****ers he needs to show some backbone. Swapping his position will only make him think his lack of effort is ok. The problem is if you only apply it to some. Debuchy, Santon, Sissoko are now going to think they are untouchable.

Krul, Santon (only because of a lack of cover), Dummett, Willo, Colo, Tiote, Anita, Cabate, Gouffran, Remy, Cisse would have been mine. Risky number of changes but would have sent out the right message.

There was me thinking Ben Arfa put in MotM displays against Fulham and Villa, playing a huge role in getting our only wins this season. I didn't see people complaining about his lack of effort then. If teams are nullifying his effectiveness, then it's up to Pardew to do something different with him. And that doesn't mean putting him on the right.

So because he turns up for a couple of games we just excuse his lack of effort in the games that follow? What sort of message would that be? He has played well in 2 of 6 games. Put in the right amount of effort in 3 of them. I'm not sure you can carry 50% ers at this level personally.

Its still a team that can win today if they put the effort in so fingers crossed they show some pride.

Its not ideal, but I'm not going to let it spoil my afternoon before we've even kicked a ball. If we get spanked again then that's a different story.

When I see Tiote and Gutierrez playing **** for countless games and still getting in the team, I don't see how your argument stands up. And you can go on about effort, but these two are the biggest liabilities in our team.

Well, I'm happy to be wrong, but Pardew has not fixed one issue from the previous defeats. We will get beaten. Dead man walking.

I'm a slightly bit surprised both the same fullbacks are starting.

So because he has made the mistake of playing poor performers in the past, he should continue to do it in the future? Is that not a tad contradictory?

Ooooh Cisse should have done better there. Would have lashed that in if he'd been on form.

Once again a simple lob over the top has Colo struggling and Krull flapping. Lucky let off.

Anther decent chance for Cisse goes begging. Wish it was Remy on the end of these (or following the themes elsewhere in the board, Defoe)

He's dropping Anita and persists in playing Tiote. It's he who is contradictory.
