Stop spoiling the fun. We're always like this in the last 24 hours before kick off. There was quiet optimism before we hit the Etihad.

Thing is, being honest, I'm not sure it's down to Cardiff. If you play against Newcastle United 1st Half Everton FC, you'll win at a canter. If you play against Newcastle United 2nd Half Everton, you'll get beat!! Really depends who turns up and how they turn up. For instance, Mike WIlliamson will start based on one half's performance v Everton. I am not alone in thinking Willo is not the best CB at the club. He could turn up as nervous as usual, and resort back to hoofball, making it easy for you lot, at which point the French contingent will get fed up and stop trying. Or maybe Ben Arfa could eat some Weetabix tomorrow morning, without cognac, and simply destroy you lot on his own. At which point there's fck all you can do. Utterly impossible to say.

Be interested in your lots feedback of Paul Dummett (likely starting lb tomorrow).

As always an away fixture in the PL is a tough fixture. Without bein disrespectful to Cardiff I think we'll need to be targeting these games as something to get something out of. This is a fellow bottom half team come the end of the season so the more points we pick up against sides who are likely to be around us at the end of the season is very important. They'll be bang up for this though and Malky Mackay will have noted our soft centre. I expect a fired up Cardiff to hit us hard early doors, so I think it will come down to ow much we want it. If we see the defensive resilience and work ethic we saw against Villa, we'll have a chance. If we see the Benny Hill type performance of Citeh or Everton then they'll be out of sight.

No sweat guys. I appreciate your focusing on Pardew.

I first recall him when he was at Reading as an assistant/coach (something like that) to the then manager Tommy Burns. At that time, there was a big bust up with 5 members of the first team squad. They were humiliated and told to train with the reserves. It must have been around the very late 90's because they were still playing at Elm Park.

The players were ostracised and became known as the "Death Row Five". We took two of them out of their misery - Jason Bowen and Andy Legg (both Welsh). Andy legg had one of the longest throws I can remember - he could hit the penalty spot from the half way touchline.

I went up to see us play them in their first season (2000/2001?) at their brand new Madejski Stadium. We beat them 0-1 and Jason Bowen got the goal. Pardew was definitely the manager at the time after Burns had got the elbow, and he wasn't very happy that day. On the other hand, I can remember Jason and Andy were quite pleased.

Don't know whether to wish you guys a good one today or not. Seems many of you think having a good day would be losing the game and losing the manager as a result - I'd take that for the two reasons. <ok>

Never!! Never turn on the team regardless. Some of it is probably we are expecting a tough game and preparing for the worst.

    This.

It's the team we support. Not the regime.

This is a great opportunity for Newcastle to. once again, get themselves out of the position that they're in and get into the top half of the table and to relieve the pressure on themselves and the manager.

Therefore, with the previous form of similar situations over the past two seasons I can only expect a pathetic display, a defence that will wither under pressure, a midfield with no clue and an attack with no service. 2-0 to Dinas Caerdydd.

It was this sort of quote that made me think the end might justify the means.

The team isn't everything - apart from a very few in football, they are just transient occupiers of the club shirts at any one time.

It's the club and supporters that matter, the rest that surrounds the game will come and go with time. <ok>

Indeed the club is the important thing. However I see no sense in being a supporter of the club though if you are going to start hoping to lose any game and turn on the team. Any warped perceived benefits are nonsensical to me, because if things are so bad, that situation will take care of itself sometime in the future. It is a situation that supporters have zero control of and cannot decide one way or the other. Whatever goes on with the club, come match day I believe supporter should support.

That's a tasty right hand CB you've got there, but why is your keeper playing in front of the back four?

Edit - Your twin strkers could be a pair of Fairies as well.

Apparently according to some worthless rag Pardew has warned Ben Arfa over his work rate - I hope HBA turned round and warned Pardew of his ****, dinosaur tactics and him hopefully being kicked to the managerial kerb in the not to distant future.

HBA has slacked off though. He scored that wonder goal, was looking good and them seems to have his cigars out. I'm not sure this will ever change though, I think you just have to accept what he is - inconsistent but mercurial when he switches on. Have to say Bruce is not known for his tactical genius but the decision to play the right footed Rosenior against him was very effective. HBA looked perplexed that his drop the shoulder was rendered useless. Pocket all game.

Now burn me good for daring to question our protected species

I could sit and watch HBA for 90 minutes though.

I can't stand the sight of smarmy Pardew!

While he has slacked off it shows that maybe we were relying on the lad too much.
All players need to up their game, not just for today but for all season. We need consistency.
