He's worried about his England place for the World Cup. It would be nice if we can pick some more points up between now and January, sign Livermore on a perm, Defoe in on loan to bang 10 goals in on the lead up to the World Cup, and if Long was available too then top half finish for the tigers. Whoop
Sadly I am not as optimistic as you. No ****ing chance this will happen. I hope I am wrong obviously.
This post is probably best filed in the 'Cock-teaser' section. Although very arousing there's next to no chance of satisfaction and the more you hope the worse the heartbreak.
There was no chance of us signing Tom Huddlestone or Jake Livermore, though was there ? People laughed at me when i said we could be a premier league side one day. **** happens
Because signing one class player means that every class player we are linked with might come here... It doesn't work like that.
you call that ****?? Defoe is one of my fav strikers.. it depends on if he's still not starting nearer Jan & Spurs would have to partially fund a loan deal (surely?).. there again, if Thud & Livers persuade him it's not "defoe" out of the question..
You never know. Now London's taken over the "Crap Town" mantle we might get an influx of Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea internationals... maybe.
I don't believe it will happen I was just thinking it would be nice. If Defoe isn't playing for spurs come January he will want to join a club on loan to get some game time with it being a World Cup year. I doubt it would be us, but if we've got some points on the board, any mid table side we would be in with a shout, that's if he really does wanna play for England. Although if spurs are in the title running he might wanna hang around to pick up a medal.
If we're doing well by January, there's no reason why not if he really does want an England place. He'd definitely have more attractive suitors but we might balance that with guaranteeing him a starting place every week with little competition. That being said, the chances of it actually happening are probably very close to zero, even if he's available and better options don't come in, there's no saying we could get him for an affordable deal, I bet he earns a tonne and spurs would want a good input from us, and I think we've just about spent our 'safely affordable' budget for the season already. Which may make us not interested, if we're in a position to have him even consider us, we'd be doing bloody well already, why put such a huge financial burden on ourselves if we're not scrapping for relegation or pushing for European spots? I wouldn't like to see us spend a fortune on a player for 6 months for the sake of it because he's good.
