Don't worry AJ can be a tad controversial too (as can a few others), known to change tack and repeatedly harps on about 'that ruddy badge' but we know that he and others create debate. As you live in Myddle I'm sure you'll appreciate AJs affection for my local public house - the Railway Inn, Yorton. BTW is the pub in Myddle any good? I've tried going there a few times and it always seems to be shut! Jenny can be very good at wumming others, ask the now friendly Wycombe and Notts County posters!

Tinnedhats - Where's the evidence of all this cash being creamed off then? You ask where all the gate money is going? Read the accounts - they're public records, available from Companies House. If you had a proper look at those you might have some idea what you're talking about. They'll tell you what money came in and where it went. You don't have to make it up.

You haven't made a point at all, just spouted a lot of unsubstantiated rubbish, some of which might be worthy of a lawyer's attention if this forum was more widely read. You ignore the fact that most supporter-owned clubs in this country are phoenix set ups - rescuing a club otherwise facing oblivion. Shrewsbury, thanks to good management, aren't in that position.

Do you really think there are sponsors just waiting for the fans to take over the club before they'll get involved? Sponsors are business people; they deal with other businesses (like STFC) for their own advantage. If they're not involved now it'll be because they're not interested anyway or they haven't got the cash to spare. A supporter owned club won't change that.

I can't believe I'm wasting my time replying to this ...

Matster..the red lion was always noted for its stakes, but i had a bit of a falling out with the landlady so i don't frequent the place anymore, ive only been to the railway twice, but have bad memories for writing my car off once on that bloody bend but if you do find me i will be in the The Elephant and Castle, yeah i visited 606 and noticed she got well slated a few times on many boards, but personaly i just like to talk about football and our club.

shrewdchemic..wwhoaaaa, calm down, im not saying that Wycherley is creaming the books, its just that if he was it could easily be hidden, but im sure he's doing a fine job, and i wasn't trying to make a point, all i was doing was throwing the possibility open for discussion. the only thing that pangs me about our club is that we are like a hamster on a wheel, we generate a lot of effort but don't in-fact get anywhere and always seem to fail at the last minuet..will it suit Wycherley if we ever get promotion? will he be happy paying the higher wage bills? ..and the fact that you did reply makes you a good poster..so well done.

I've heard a lot of people fell out with the landlord or lady, must be useful to do that as an owner of a traditional drinking establishment! Blimey can you afford £3.20 for Ruddles County in the Inn at Grinshill?

hi tinned hats i love the railway inn at yorton and dear liz behind the bar with a big stock of parsnip crisps. twice i have met matster there on my rare all to brief visits to gods own county. btw what is the romping cat like at oldwoods.
any way yes i do harp on about towns badge but the longer we go without success the more i believe it,
as for rowland wytcherley i am certain he has great ambitions for the shrews, witness his sacking of paul simpson when it was obvious town were not in the running for the top 7. rowland is as concerned as most to please our sponsors, his signing of graham turner was an inspiration but our squad has not been strong enough to maintain a promo challenge. we need 85 points if we are serious about going up. can graham put the right squad together, will he get enough money to do the job and or lucky loans. no please do not question the boards lack of ambition, they are up for it, let us hope everyone is up for it.
i wonder how much we will get for eeyore. floreat salopia and 3 loggerheads

Tinned Hats.. The title of the thread poses the question 'are we being stitched up'? The quick, sensible answer is NO. Wycherley's a Shrewsbury bloke through & through & I'm sure he'd love nothing more than to see his beloved club climb the leagues.

We're lucky in that we've a local lad done well in life, investing in his local club. The club he's supported all his life. There ain't many clubs out there that can claim to have a Chairman like ours (Dave Whelan springs to mind).

What are the alternatives to the above?

A mysterious rich Arab (Munto, Notts County)?? A businessman in it to make himself a buck (Steve Hayes, Wycombe)?? A damn-right dodgy individual (Stephen Vaughan, Chester etc). Or a Supporters Trust, which as Shrewd correctly points out only get involved when none of the above want to??

You didn't help yourself when private messaging a WUMlike message to me out of the blue. I'd never heard of you & you were/are a newbie so of course, opinions are made. We may have got off on the wrong foot, but that ain't my fault. Still, the slate's wiped clean & your contributions are as welcome as anyone elses.. :)

AJ the Romping Cat was a great pub specialising in ale and banter. Supposedly due to alterations, closures and regulars moving on it has changed somewhat. The bloke I go to footy with used to go out there at least once a week but has given up on it. I cannot judge it myself as I haven't been there in a while.

BTW I went to Ludlow and had lunch in the Church Inn, great beer and a lovely local Ludlow pie. Great pub.

jenny, i thought i would give you my calling card first, as this isnt meant has a complaint but ive been reading your posts on other sites (BBC),wycombe, notts county etc and lets be honest you are the queen wummer.......but im a straight talker, not a mr chummy, so what ever i feel ill say, i don't regard myself as a newbie because although not participating, ive been reading boards for the last few years. but although my question stirred a few feathers, i will always hold the banner for fan power, Swansea City being my standard......so yes i will accept your apology and now we can start off on a clean sheet  and move on

    Tinned Hats.. I haven't apologised.

You will be judged on your contributions to OUR boards, as have I & everyone else. Of course, banter exists between rival clubs & other supporters but it really doesn't exist in the form of a WUM between fellow supporters. Clearly, this you are yet to learn. You are the one the created the bad first impression & you are the one following up that bad impression with a ridiculous thread.

    Keep 'em coming.....
