Yep, call me a pessimist but now all of a sudden I think he is going whereas two hours ago I was fairly certain he'd stay. I obviously hope I'm wrong.

I really dont understand why Malky would do this? He would simply be putting his head in the noose and putting a tonne of preasure on himself. At Wfc he has no expectations and we all would understand if we went down next season and would not call for his head. However, CCFC would sack him if they finished any lower than they did this year or if they lost more then 8-10 games in the season. He has the freedome and the backing of the club with us and he knows the fans love him. Why risk it?

I wouldn't read too much in to it guys. MM is the latest in a long line of names doing the rumour mill around here at the moment ranging from O'Neill, Hughes, Houghton, Di Matteo, Robins and now MM.

While I think MM would be a good appointment, as he's under contract with you there would be a question of compo and while there are unattached managers available, I can't see our board spending money they don't have to...just my opinion.
The club have said today an official announcement wont be made until next week so either way, we wont know till then.

    All the best Hornets <ok>

CCFC fan in peace. Thought I'd see what you guys were saying having just read the same rumour. Nothing on our boards about MM - focus is on Robbins, Hughton and Di Matteo. Got to correct some points though. CCFC doesn't have a record of sacking managers quickly - Jones was the 3rd longest serving manager in FL/EPL. Not all fans want a big name - though such a signing would indicate that the foreign money behind us isn't going to disappear in the next two months!!
Regarding your manager, I hope he stays with you - not because I don't rate him, I think he'd be ideal for us. I just think your board and you as fans deserve to keep someone you invested trust and time in. I just wish our board knew when to try someone who isn't a big name - we seem to want to follow all managers who have recently got sides out of the Championship and subsequently have been sacked.
    Good luck for next year.

He's not favourite in the betting, and my betting is he won't go to Cardiff. i just hope nobody else lures him away. We also hope he stays, for the same reasons as you :). Thanks snickernotsprint.

As Suffolk said the Mirror are saying Cardiff are preparing to offer compensation but only 300K! Now that is under-priced!

On a slight tangent, Chopra might be going to Ipswich - would that have any influence on a decision by Malky?

Malky leaving - it will happen, but I honestly think he can wait for a top appointment. Cardiff with all due respect are not a top side.

Replacements - NNW suggested Bassett, WTF!!!! Ok he still lives in Northwood, I saw him in his big Merc a few weeks ago. He is the epitome of the "over-age, over the hill" football man. Sorry NNW but I just had to quash that line as it repulsed me.

Someone said Graham Taylor - we all hold him in great regard for what he did in 2 spells, but he has retired. Football management at our level is not for old men, it is for young hungry men.

My money would be on Nigel Gibbs, but honestly let's make sure we all support Malky as he is doing a brilliant job.

Not sure how reliable the mirror is mainly because I don't read it but it says in there this morning that they're ready to pay 300k worth of compensation for him. It was on the BBC gossip column...
