Don't get me wrong, it's vaguely entertaining to see how we're getting on, but I just don't really understand the significance of it.
Nearly every season there is at least one team that goes on a meteoric climb up the table, and at least one that goes into freefall, it's good to see if these movers improve your position or not! Poor old Supers, there is only one way for him to go!
No great significance, and you're right - the END of season is what we play for finally, but it's just a bit of fun along the way. And ... the monthly bonuses for the best base scores DO last all season, so if someone picked up, let's say 3 points, two points twice, and one point three times in the end of monthly points bonuses that's a further 10 points off their end-of-season score so it is more of a permanent points game totting up during the whole season. Don't read too much into it though, but gee, gives the Sunderland and Reading boards plenty of weekly work with nearly 40 forums in on this!
The Forum Competition League Table (inc Bonus Points) And here are the latest inter forum results. The biggest news is that Norwich City fans have come from mid-table obscurity to be rampant leaders! Liverpool and Newcastle continue to be right up there, but the surprise is that it is the Toon Forum and not Vital Newcastle who are flying the colours up north. Welsh fans are very highly placed too in the forum charts. Cardiff, containing the overall individual leader at present, and Swansea City are both top six. Blackburn, Chelsea, Hemel Hempstead, QPR and Wigan are all flying too in the top dozen. Perhaps the so-called experts are correctly paid for their work? I say that because the Media guys and the Blog entrants are also in the top dozen too. For whom has it not got going yet for? Itâs unfortunately the Posh Forum, Talk of the Terraces (TOTT) and the United Lounge who are currently holding things up, but points differences are really minimal. The Forum Competition League Table (inc Bonus Points) And here are the latest inter forum updates. These, for me, are by far the most interesting of the season so far. Because of the HUGE changes that have gone on during the last couple of weeks. These should give hope to EVERY forum if you havenât had a lift so far! Firstly, you have to give biggest credit of all to the Peterborough Posh Forum, theyâve done a miraculous climb. They were recently in 39th and last place, yet theyâre now hooked in at joint second overall. Brilliant stuff. Yet Spurs âTottenham Hotspur Unofficial Supporters Siteâ have almost done as well â they were near the ârelegationâ positions and are now outright LEADERS at this stage. Watfordâs WFC Forums have also made a dramatic surge up into the top positions as well, and Blackburn are very well placed too Iâm sorry to say that Norwichâs glory at the top was somewhat short-lived, theyâre now around middle again. But Liverpool, Newcastle (Toon Forum) and Cardiff forums are maintaining their good progress, and Chelsea, already good, have increased their presence still further. Brighton NSC havenât been able to sustain their position and have momentarily plummeted, and the Vital â Newcastle forum, after leading the boards the very first week are now with the wooden spoon. But as I have continually said, these tables are volatile, and we will continue to see big ups and downs until at least after Christmas, when we should have a much clearer picture of which forums are going to be gunning for the end of season fame! Next week, if you donât mind, Iâll take a week off â itâs time consuming work and a breather would be nice - so Iâll be back at the very beginning of October and that will include all the bonus points for the best so far at the end of September. So I've managed to go from third to rock bottom in the blink of an eyelid. I have no idea how you work all this out fella (and this is coming from an analyst who loves in a world of spreadsheets) but it must cause you a few bloody headaches!
Perhaps you get deducted points?, I haven't got a clue either , I stopped paying attention after a while as it was all too much for my fragile little mind.
There's no mysteries here I promise! This was the initial selection of Tony_Munky_Canary: 1. Chelsea 2. Man United 3. Man City 4. Arsenal 5. Spurs 6. Liverpool 7. Swansea 8. Everton 9. Norwich 10. West Ham 11. Stoke 12. Sunderland 13. Newcastle 14. Villa 15. Saints 16. Fulham 17. Cardiff 18. Hull 19. West Brom 20. Crystal Palace Points are simply calculated from the places out, at any one time. This is all VERY volatile until things settle down a bit after Christmas! At present you've lost most points with Saints (9), Hull (10), Villa (5), WBA (9), Man Utd (10), Swansea (6), Norwich (5), West Ham (7), and Sunderland (8). These are the places - therefore points - out of place ... but I know that these things change rapidly; last season someone came from nowhere (mid-table obscurity in January) to win the game!! The people doing best at the moment are those who didn't see the new Man Utd regime as working at all, those who foresaw Sunderland's problems, those who couldn't see West Ham's high placing first time back in the premier last season maintaining itself this time, and Hull's surprisingly high placing (well, at least if you consider that they along with Palace were the two relegation favourites by some 90% of fans doing this prediction game!). But obviously, some of these surprises' will probably iron themselves out, so those who made wild guesses and are at present enjoying glory may well be pulled back come another month into the season! I hope that gives some comfort ...
