I love Bally too - the players appear to love Bally as well - and the fact that they refer to him as "Kevin" or "Bally" is a missve reason not to give him the job. It's OK when things are going well but he's too friendly with the current playing staff. If he picks O'Shea and Cuallar at CD tomorrow I think the polarised opinions on him may end up being less positive and more negative. A boiss should be called Boss or Gaffer when managing a club, It may be OK to call him Kevin as this shows some respect but certainly not his nickname. When they talked about O'Neil it was never "Martin" or "O'Neill" - it was "The Manager has said..." etc. Same with Bruce - no one said "Brucey will get us doing blah blah" - Always "The Manager". A boss cannot be a friend - he has to be respected but not liked

Or they could all just shut the **** up and get on with their job.

Paolo had people on his back left right and center regarding the Media. JoS has been in the press 3 times this week, 1 he had the Audacity to tell everyone else to up their game. Maybe instead of chatting to the cameras they should put a bit more time in the gym or do some extra ball work. Just do the talking on the pitch init.

The comments that these 'players' are coming out with are embarassing.

I see us getting a good hiding tomorrow, a 5-0 drubbing is on the cards.

I kind of agree with his comments though para (Nice to meet you last Friday mate) It isn't a bad time to meet them when it comes to Utd - it's a "free game" so we will all be delighted with a point or a decent performance and a one goal loss. We don;t mind as long as we put our heart and soul into it. I can;t see anything other than a defeat but, you never know, the last two home league games refereeing decisions may swing in our favour this week <yikes>

Totally agree with the sentiments Bri - but I'm sure that the club are contracted by the premier league and certain sponsorship deals to ensure a certain number of local and national press interviews are given. Just a pity the club can't control what certain players say - they can't "Shut the **** up" because the club advises the press which players to speak to - so the club would end up getting fined if the players did not fulfill their media obligations - sad reality of the football world nowadays

Fair do's but surely Bally can do it? Never in my time supporting Sunderland have 7 different players spoken about the same match in the days running up to a game. I maybe wrong, but it seems really excessive to me.

I used to run my own business. If some of my staff came to me complaining about their manager I would look into their complaints. IF I found that they were justified then I would take action against that manager.

If the same staff then started mouthing off about who they wanted to be their next manager, I would be having serious words with those staff members - and would certainly give the job to someone else. You can't let staff think that they have a say in the hiring and firing.

Rule number 1 - Shut up and play football.

Whoever comes in as manager, that should be his first rule . . . . . .

If Ball is making such a mess, so soon, then he can't be considered.

    End of story.

If his first team sheet didn't rule him out of the running than the world has gone crazy

Wouldn't say no to Jol fella, but I think theres plenty available who can do a very good Job. Scary thing is there's plenty of horrors in the running. These are the type the players clearly want. Another MoN free ride.

We won't turn up expecting an easy game, there's no way we'll approach our next game unprepared after the recent results we've had.

I'm starting to sense that even the PDC haters are starting to think,
"Had on, what if he was right!?!?"

Players for all clubs always give interviews before games, especially against big clubs and even more so when journalists are hanging around waiting for the latest gossip about potential managers.

not sure what all the fuss is about.

regardless of personal performance, what is Cuellar supposed to say when asked about how he feels about the upcoming game?

"we was allrigt against liverpool, but that RVP bloke is a bit of a handful. reckon we going to get stuffed by 3 or 4 goals like"

It will all settle down once a new manger is officially appointed, whether that is Ball or not.

BTW, Ball has said that he isnt changing much in terms of discipline but is just allowing the players to have a bit of fun and enjoy their football. If the players arent enjoying their footy, they arent going to perform well.

And who the **** compared Ball to Shearer? what an insult. At least Ball has some coaching experience, unlike that bald twat who had no experience at all before taking on the Nags job.

PDC had the right idea, but put it into practice badly.

If given a choice between Poyet, Zola and Ball, I'd choose Ball. (all 3 of them lack experience at top level management)

However, if we can get a manger in who has top level experience, I'd prefer that. (then put Ball as his No 2)

I compared Shearer to Ball for very good reasons.

"Knows the club, understands what the supporters want, knows the players, 'run through brick walls for him' blah ****ing blah ****ing blah bull**** bull**** bull****'.

We don't need bull**** and running through brick walls . . . . we need a professional and experienced manager who will make judgements based on logic not emotion.

Anyone who thinks different is . . . . . a knob, sorry to be so blunt.

Smug, it's a game of two halves and the one who scores more goals tends to win. I'd be sick as a parrot if we pick another dud manager, but over the moon with the right gaffer who can get 110% out of the players. Someone who, at the end of the day, knows that it's a funny old game and wouldn't have it any other way.
