The less said about the Ref the better, hope we do not get another like him. Leon Britton was my MOTM, with Michu and Tremmel close second, St Gallen were a big test for us tonight, physical and in our face, and a problem on the break, our boys will know they've played tonight, that's for sure!...............
Hard fought but well deserved victory in the end and against a very much underestimated and dangerous team ... and the ref? ... very decisive with a soft hand ball but apparently a kick in the head gets the benefit of the doubt? ... anywhere else on the park and the bloke gets a yellow minimum .... that's why I'll never understand referees...
I think they are well placed in the First Division unbeaten in 12 games. Big team, athletic with good technical ability. That said, they were allowed to get away with their over physical approach by the worst referee I can ever remember. He gave them licence to climb all over us and they did just that. The man is a disgrace to his profession and if he doesn't get a suspension for that performance tonight, EUFA, FIFA or whoever will be left with no credibility whatsoever. This was a tough game and gave me food for thought. I liked the fact that every St Gallen player fought and ran for the full 90 minutes. I liked the way they attacked in numbers, often with six or seven players in there but also managed to defend with numbers. They had an energy and fitness that I drooled over. If we could add that to our game we would be some team.
Just got in and I'm absolutely fuming That ref was on the take no doubt about it. He wasn't inept he was cheating end of. Thank fcuk we scored from a cross from the byline because those Swiss ****ers were appealing for offside and I thought they were going to get it too
St.Gallan came to compete, and to win,and they very nearly succeeded, thanks to a very poor referee. Their fans' were great, and clearly enjoyed their trip to Wind Street!!! Hard fought win, let's hope for some easier games further down the line.
I would second that. St Gallen were a very fit, athletic, well organised side - and so were their fans! It was a privilege to be at The Liberty tonight - noisy occasion, flares, a great football match and a Swans win. I thought St Gallen were unfortunate to lose and any one who says "we only have to win our home games" needs a kick up the butt. These are all tough matches and the Swans did well to win that
He was a real shocker. St Gallen fans booed in the 75th minute - that was the first controversial decision against them. It had been one way traffic before that.
Just be glad you missed it. Not a classic, hard fought win in more sense than one. Ref was a ****ing prick, worst display by a ref I've ever seen. Event worse than Mike Dean!!
Just got in, the ref was the worst I've seen in a long while, an absolute disgrace. They were a physical, fit bunch, very technical and they played as a team. There is no doubt they came to win, they almost did to. We were very narrow, Pozuelo played well infield, Tiendali was exposed because of this and had a pretty torrid time. Nathan Dyer changed things for the better when he came on. Michu ran himself ragged, worryingly he seemed to be limping slightly at the end of the game and close up he seemed exhausted. Leon was for me man of the match. Really can't wait for Hernandez to get himself fit and in contention. Can Ben Davis play right back? I would like to see him and Taylor on the pitch if we can't play Rangel.
What an infuriating game! The ref was infuriating. Our passing was infuriating (but credit to St Gallen for forcing us into hurried passing all night). Pozuelo was infuriating. Tiendalli was a liability in the first half. Bony still doesn't do enough for me. Thank god St Gallen were gash in front of goal as they could have won this game comfortably. Anyway, very grateful for 3 more points even if it was undeserved overall. And I did predict the correct score in the OP.
