The month has finished, so its time for the player of the month. Previous winners this season: August: 1. McCormack 2.Austin/Pearce tied A very horrible month for results, probably one of the worst that I can remember with only 3 points picked up in the league at the start of the month as well as being knocked out of the cup. Very few players performed so I'm interested to know who people will vote for. The results of October were: Bolton 0 - 1 Leeds Reading 1 - 0 Leeds Leeds 1 - 2 Burnley Newcastle 2 - 0 Leeds Millwall 2 - 0 Leeds With just two goals scored, 1 from Varney and 1 from Smith I doubt any strikers will be picking up any votes. Personally I think Warnock has maintained pretty good form despite the team's slump, also Mowatt could pick up some votes although he only played a couple of games but probably was our best player in the two games he did play in. Wootton has also been pretty solid but has been apart of a centre back pairing that have conceded 7 goals during the month.
I'd have to agree with you there, its been a pretty poor month Gotta be honest, don't think he has been that good. Still very poor in possession of the ball, Millwall was a shocker for him in that regard
Brian McDermott - for not having a clue - I know he's not a player, but neither are the rest in that list!!
It was tough to pick one this month! It was between Wooton and Ross for me, and I went for Ross in the end. Choosing between a player in a defence that has conceded 7, and an attacking force that's struggled to score wasn't easy, but I think the work ethic and the desire to do something with the ball won it for Ross. He hasn't found himself in a great scoring position that much, because he has been forced to play deeper, so I don't think he can be singled out for the lack of goals. My first instinct was to say Austin, because he just works and works and works, but you're right about his possession Josh (though I think Warnock was just as bad in that regard against Millwall). I think the thing that annoyed me more in recent games though are his constant attempts at the hero shot from miles out, ultimately missing the target. We all know he can smash them in from a distance, but there have been better options than dragging a shot wide from outside the area.
Kenny has made a fair few mistakes to be fair which have cost us goals and others he should've done better with. I really feel like I'm the only one that really doesn't rate him as a goalkeeper
Varney has been one of our better players to be fair and austin would have walked it but had 2 shockers to finished the month. I will go with Tonge consistently very godpod and has made the Murphy signing an even bigger joke Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Surpised you've gone with Tonge, MTMB. Think he is somewhat of a nothing player, doesn't really offer anything to the first team and was quite poor against Millwall also. Also we're gonna need to someone to put in a deciding vote, 3 way tie at the moment
Josh after watching him all season apart he has had composure and great footwork, if he had pace he would be still in the prem IMO he's never gonna look good playing the role he does but just like Bradley Johnson, jonny howson before him we would miss him if he left Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I'm voting for Kenny. He's gone about his job quietly and efficiently, has made some important saves, and looks a safe pair of hands
