Well since this is seemingly a game with two pleasant attacking sides who play good football with fan bases who respect and admire each other and each others clubs, I reckon this is going to be a gritty and highly cotroversial 1-0 in either direction, both teams will end up with under 10 men on the field and it will be a game that creates an eternal hatred between the two clubs.
Feel an affinity with Swansea as we both have to put up with the louder blue idiots down the road As it stands us Saints are a year behind the footballing road of Swansea and if we can replicate what they did last season I will be thrilled. To the Swansea supporters, who is the football driving force at the club? They've done a great job at maintaining a football identity through the leagues under different managers. Swansea should be the blueprint for all clubs, especially those outside the EPL.
Don't know if reported earlier in this thread, but Swansea Captain probably missing our game with ankle ligament damage.
I know we want to get into Europe but playing Europa League is a huge strain on your playing resources.
Im hoping in that event we will have a massive kitty for strengthening the 1st team and adding depth. Cortese knows about Europe and Im sure his ambition doesn't include us sliding down the league as we fail to balance the league and Europe.
He's out for a month - he missed the Arsenal game last week. Jordi Amat stepped in and played quite well, but I am assuming Rick(with an ie) Lambert will be looking for weaknesses there.
Is there any reason our fans are much quieter this season? Last game was the quietest St Mary's has been in a long time. I'll be disappointed if we don't win this. Last season I really don't know how we didn't win or Lallana didn't win a penalty. We are a much better side now and in decent form so I'm confident.
Very small sample for such a big question but the ST holders either side of me and behind me (Northam) didn't renew - the ones I've spoken to claimed cost of tickets as the reason - so we have "visitors" for each home game. If you repeat that across the stand you might have a bit of an explanation. Vin
I might be wrong but I get the impression more have migrated back to the itchen corner. With loud away support like palace inbetween our two vocal areas its difficult to get any cohesive chants going.
If we want to compete with the top clubs in our division then we will have to get used to playing European football. I would be happy with Europa football more games to watch each week and great experience for our young squad.
Think I would like the chance to find out if we could cope. If you are in the Europa, you've either done well in the League or won a cup....either scenario would make me happy. Good luck to Swansea tonight...Come on you Whites.
I'm more affraid of this game than the one against Liverpool. Swansea are great when in possesion and i can see them causing us all sorts of problems if we don't manage to play our pressing game as effectively as we know and can.
Its definitely to our adavantage that they have a Europa game tonight. Midfield battle will be key again and if we can win a midfield battle with Gerrard then why not Michu and co.
Dare I say it, but Gerrard is like an old army tank, ineffective but wheeled out for special occasions.
