Is this still about Danny Graham vs Brady penalties?

With Brady out we might just see Graham take them. Graham might be the slowest penalty kicker I have ever seen. Look at these clips. I think his strategy is to move so slow that the keeper falls asleep.

Can you explain the highlighted statement, meaning how it is easier as a left footed player to disguise a shot to the right as opposed to the left ? Oh, also, who's L/R are we talking about, Brady's ( the left-footer) or the keeper's ? My assumption is Brady's right given your reference to Prossy's penalty against Cardiff, which I scrutinized intently in the flesh. What are the variables involved you mention, and which of these variables would be missing in your hypothesis ?I'm intrigued by the certainty/authority in your statements. I clearly don't understand them.
Remember, I have suggested, and you may well disagree, that a keeper has pretty well decided in which direction he is going to dive before the PK taker hits the ball. Please incorporate that fact into your explanation, or argue against it's validity.

By the way, that particular Prozzy penalty, I thought, was badly taken. My analysis - poor bugger had too much time to think about it and the pressure on him was immense. It would have guaranteed automatic promotion, regardless of the Watford result, had he scored. He buckled.

    Flood's subsided. Time for bed.

Well done Ellewoods - you've just added enough humour to what has been a bit of a night of grinding toil.
    Bon nuit.

If there's a prize for being a major culprit in participation, yes it is.

Never thought I'd wish for us NOT to be given a penalty again. <yikes>

That's true, in fact, there's probably quite a few contenders for the title...

I'm simply grateful that Peter Saxon and PLT have taken such lengths to show to us all their lack of knowledge about the rudiments of football; that means we don't have to take anything else they say seriously. The daftest non-argument for a long time.

It's amazing that it has lasted this long.

Your descriptions of both shots are consistently inaccurate, I have demonstrated that and you had to agree. Two penalties, one well struck, hard, mid-height and half-way to post: the other equally well struck, not so hard (as was his intent), low and more to the bottom corner than midway to post. Chalk'n'cheese.

Your pompous approach to discussion doesn't change, regardless of the topic.

Don't be such a ****. This post makes me want to argue the point yet again, keeping this crap going. This is why pretty much every debate you're involved in drags on and on like this. It was a perfectly valid point being made but I'm not going to argue it any further.

FFS PLT, you revert to your normal nonsense of name-calling and labelling, all because you can't carry your point. It's a forum, try looking at the length of yours and Petersaxton' s posts compared to mine. Also try watching the video of the two penalties and see that they are very different in pace and direction; if you can't see that then it's pretty pointless you watching the games, let alone coming on here to share your wisdom. Why is it that some on here (you included) think threads should stop simply because they aren't a part of it? It rhetorical, don't stress yourself by replying.

What are you even arguing about?

Brady took it and scored it (although it shouldn't have been given in the first place).

If you power your penalty (as Brady did) and aim right in the corner then there is a high chance you'll hit the post or miss. If you aim to one side (as Brady did) then there is a high chance you'll score as pace will beat the keeper.

If you place your penalty and aim slightly to one side then there is a high chance the shot will be saved. If you aim right in the corner then there is a high chance that you'll score as the keeper would have to dive right across the goal.

    Move on. <doh>

There is more than one way to take a penalty, providing the ball goes ball into the net then who gives a ****?

If you took the trouble to read back you would find that you have made the same argument as me; it's PLT you need to convince. <doh>

My point was not about Brady's penalty taking abilities.
My point was would giving it to Graham boosted his confidence as this what he seems to be lacking at the minute.
Someone said his confidence would have been worse if he'd have missed it, but I honestly can't see how his confidence could get any lower.

He was criticising me for simply using an analogy which is a widely accepted technique in logical analysis. There's no way the poster can or should be praised for such behaviour.
