Think you're missing the point fella. These are anti player rants not pro-Paolo rants. He was **** on, like O'Neill was when they stopped playing for him. Yes his tactics were negative but we had one of the best defences in the league at christmas until the players started their little games. They did the same with Bruce but the fans as whole took the flack for that because a tiny minority of our fan base had a problem with his Geordie allegiance. Wake up and smell the coffee fella. They're all calling their boss Bally now! Just look at what happens to the next boss. The squad is full of poison.
not missing the point at all Bri...its my opinion mate. I am aware we have issues with the squad, its very fragmented. Bruce, MoN and PDC couldn't deal with them. Thats why the next appointment is crucial. All I am saying is that from day 1...PDC simply wasn't the answer. He cannot handle man management, tactics and buying players...he has a mouth bigger than Wearmouth. Ellis got this one badly wrong, but I take your point about the players, it will take a big manager to deal with some of these tossers..
Very much so mate. Paolo was too volatile, no denying it. But you can see the board tried to install a discipline and technical edge when they hired Paolo. I'd like to see them have the same in mind with their next appointment and show these players that their only choice is to subscribe to our vision of bringing safc into to the times of the modern game. Defenders will have to learn to pass a ball, midfielders will have to learn to keep the ball and provide the bulk of the goals. Rene Meulensteen for me. Technical coach at one of the most disciplined clubs in the country. The old guard want an old school english manager even though the style and lifestyle in football has changed. Easy to see why? It's so they can call their boss by nickname and piss around through training having a laugh and enjoying multiple days off without giving our club the effort it deserves. Stick to the plan I say. Some of the players won't like it but they need to know they're not in charge here.
If kevin ball picked that side he clearly is not good enough, i think the whole world and its mother could have told him that to have both oshea and cuellar in the same line up cannot and must not be put together
Sad to say but Kevin Ball is working his way out of his job. Here's my prediction, a new man will come in, recognise that Bally is part of a clique and oust him without 6 months.
KB`s job is still the U`21`s though isn`t it? I would expect that to be safe enough. Talked himself out of 1st team coach? yes, agree with that. Too much familiarity. imo any new chap must knock that on the head asap. edit : just re-read that 1st sentence. Hope the apostrophe police aren`t watching.
My concern is the dressing room is split. The veterans such as seb, jos, cuellar against the newbies. Unless we get a manager both rate I fear we are doomed

My concern is the dressing room is split. All the newbies coming in will be wondering wtf is going on when the veterans such as JOS, Seb etc go and complain about having to do a bit graft. Hope we get a manager in quickly who both sides can relate to, bond, and then start playing the way I suspect they can. Still wouldnt play JOS, Cuellar, Seb, Vaughan & AJ again in a SAFC shirt.

I don't want to be alarmist but I think it's worse than that. Ball hasn't come out of this well at all and I think his days are numbered. The players coming out so quickly to support Ball, after suggesting they want an English manager, smacks of collusion to me. A new manager will want Ball out.
Out of the 1st team set up would seem likely under the circumstances. Sent back to the U`21`s would be a good `get out clause`, he seems to be doing a very good job there. I wish you hadn`t said `collusion`. Don`t like that at all and could turn acrimonious which could be even worse.
I wish I hadn't said cullusion mate . . . . but there's summat badly wrong and I'm starting to look sideways at Ball.
I'm getting worried now,as it looks like there is a split in the dressing-room...we need a new manager in,pronto!!
these are my feelings exactly. the fact gardener and cuellar started over celustka and diakite says it all about ball as a probable manager. clique clique. i think westwoods a huge part in this as well, start mannone or recall pickford i dont care. diakite and roberge are probably are best all round cb pairing, between them strength, pace and compsoure on the ball. and they both speak the same language. i hope to god poyet comes in now, he'll restore what pdc was attempting at least, and if he can do it without the unprofessionalism of pdc, these awful players will have nothing to go on. i hope the lunatics only have control for a few more days. De Fanti can't be foolish enough to let this clique of Balls take over for good, what a waste of summer it would have been to let that happen. mannone celustka diakite roberge colback catts ki cabral aj altidore giach against utd for me, think against weaker opposition our strongest 11 is the same but with a midfield of aj catts ki mavrias giach altidore. if we play oshea and cuellar agaisnt utd im going 0-4 minimum.
I'm beginning to think KB has backed himself into a corner. He can't experiment. He's had Ba on the bench twice and not used him. If he makes radical changes and they get a hiding it wouldn't look good for his prospects. I expect to see the same faces. The same crew who got us into this mess. The same crew who are incapable of getting us out of it.
