It does make me smile how (if true) that Red bull have borderlined the legality of the 3 No-No's of Traction Control, Engine Mapping and Blown Exhausts all in one.
is it worth one of the top team to ask for this to be investigated? not to put pressure on a rival team but to actually see if their car is legal? the only problem is IF Redbull do have an illegal car they can just take the parts of or change settings with the engine to hide there illegalities. i think Formula 1 should be more like other sports in how the FIA carries out it surprise scrutineer tests. lOther sports just spring Urine test on athletes and they generally are found to be guilty Just a thought.....i mean 2.5 seconds a lap quicker is a tad on the silly side and would explain why the team are always trying to slow him down in races.....they dont want to show their true hand.
I imagine Red Bull are up to something very fishy but in the letter of the law totally legal. It's annoying as they're been the ones to beat for years now but from a engineering side of things I can't help but admire their constant ability to find grey area's to make up big time, I like innovation
FIA has answered: Everything was absolutely legal in Singapore. from http://sportbild.bild.de/SPORT/form...en-red-bull-und-sebastian-vettel-zurueck.html or http://www.motorsport-total.com/f1/news/2013/10/vettel-auf-dem-weg-zur-legende-13100215.html ---- FIA weist Betrugsvorwürfe gegen Red Bull entschieden zurück Der Automobil-Weltverband (FIA) jedenfalls weist die Vorwürfe gegen Red Bull zurück. ----
What do you mean? Just flagging cars down mid race? There's no point checking them back at the factory because it wouldn't be illegal, they could have a V10 in the back and wouldn't be breaking the rules. They're scrutineered extensively at every grand prix. They go over every car on a Thursday and have scrutineers in every garage logging every change the teams make. All the cars are legal.
Every so often they screw people over in quali with random checks. They may have stopped it now but I remember recently drivers having a poor lap, coming in to refuel and being stopped at the weigh bridge stopping them getting another lap :s
Yes! Two of my three are non-Vettels: There was Rosberg in China; Vettel in Bahrain; Lewis in Hungary Not had much luck lately though but I think tomcat's 'vote Vettel every race' routine speaks volumes: now there's a true fan who reaps his rewards
What?? Is tomcat copying my routine....... or do great minds think alike or has F1 just gotten too predictable
If they were scrutineered so much why do people keep finding things that might be on the wrong side of rules. My dad says it every race 1. I would give my right arm for have a go in one of those cars And 2. They should just give them all the same bloody car and separate the men from the boys. Seen the clip and vettels car makes some bloody odd sounds
I had Alonso at China, was going to go Vettel every race, and he's been my default choice every season we've had the prediction league
New pit exit is weird, it really does go beyond the T1 run off and then rejoin at T2, please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Vettel extends contract with Red Bull, what makes you think the grid will shake up? Red Bull don't just work around rules, they make new systems that haven't been put in the rules yet. Anyway this 4-cylinder cut out system was bought up last year wayyyyyy before Minardi spotted it and it was discussed (Brundle, f1technical, scarbs etc...) and understood in novice terms that it was possible to induce a "traction control system" but not actually be called TC, because it isn't traction control it's something different. Just amazed there was an echo in the room because we are discussing the same subject.... again! This has been around with RB for almost over year now?
