Looking at it, we've got the following players running out in 2014:

Drury
Green
Varney
Ashdown
Brown
Diouf

All of them will be going. I guess Diouf can still do a job for us in certain games but it seems Brian is more keen on other options - so I think he'll leave.

The likes of Norris, Tonge, Hunt, Hall are on contract till 2015 so we might still be carrying some deadwood next season as well (though Hall seems to have impressed the Blades, we'll wait and see what happens there)

Supposing we did manage to move on a large percentage of the deadwood in summer, we'll be almost a different team again next year. That's what needs to stop, Brian is having to replace huge chunks of the squad at a time, hopefully once it's sorted out this time we'll be able to move to a more gradual evolution.

 

Isn't Pugh out of contract as well next year ?

LiD, not sure I entirely agree with your analysis, as I think one or two of those can still do a job. But much wil now depend on whether or not additional funds come in and how some players perform over the next few months.

 

Fair enough Boggers, there's a few in there who can do a job. I guess I'm thinking they need to be backup/squad players if we are going to press on. Also yeah missed Pugh, how could I forget about him....

 

Not sure why Pugh hasn't been picked up by some team near the bottom of the championship or any L1 side. He could certainly do a job for the 'Wall or any other such side. Not sure, even as a utility player, that we'll see him anywhere in the Leeds squad on match days.

Pughs on a contract he wont get matched anywhere else. Thats why he is still with us and will remain with us until it expires!
