Actually thinking back again Whitmarsh didn't really make out his team was to be next, but that they were going to have a hand in it at some point.

Sergey Sirotkin is set to drive a 2011 Ferrari in a late October test. It's part of his training for a super licence and ended up being in the Ferrari due to issues with finding a engine for a 2011 Sauber.

I assume Ferrari will find a way to get 2014 rubber on the car for this test.....

See some interesting features to that calender.

I'm sure the Hungarian and Austrian circuits are like 200-300 miles apart, yet theres two races in between them.
Sunday evening till Wednesday to get from Monaco to New York!

Yup, some massive logistical screw-ups evident there. Also Italy to Singapore to Russia to Japan to Abu Dhabi is just a mess.

How is it even possible for Vettel to accelerate 50m earlier than the others? He'd be on the throttle before he even turned in.

As Webber is clearly a no2 now, why wouldn't they put the best parts on the no1 car?

Well this could be interesting. There's a typhoon warning for Sunday/Monday for the Korean GP.

    Perez's report card at McLaren

The jury is still out on Perez. His performances during the season have been better than a glance at the results would conclude, but there have not yet been compelling signs that he is evolving into a driver worthy of one of F1's prized seats.

For McLaren to axe him in favour of a driver like Alonso makes sense, but having made the decision to take him on in the first place it would be logical to give Perez a second season to build on what he has learned this year. There have been enough positive signs to say that after a year's experience at McLaren, he might be able to perform consistently at Button's level.

The question, though, is whether that is enough for McLaren, which likely sees Button as the ideal support act to an Alonso, Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel.

Ferrari's latest protege Antonio Fuoco set for 2014 European F3

Ferrari's latest protege looks set to graduate to the Formula 3 European Championship in 2014.

Antonio Fuoco is being lined up to follow in the footsteps of fellow Ferrari Driver Academy member and current European F3 championship leader Raffaele Marciello by competing with Prema Powerteam.

Fuoco, 17, needs just one point to clinch the Formula Renault ALPS title in this weekend's finale at Imola. He has raced in the category with Prema in his debut season of car racing.

ItaliaRacing reported Fuoco to F3 nearly a month ago. But it's nice to see Baldisserri confirming it :D
