I went to the Inny in town, and we used to spend our breaks in town. I tried shoplifting a couple of times, but I was crap. I was like Woody Allen in Take The Money and Run.

If there is a designated crossing area with x feet you can get a traffic ticket for crossing in a non designated placed; (not sure exact distance... probably varies state to state like most laws). If there is no special place to cross you can cross anywhere. I actually only know of one street where people have actually been ticketed for jay walking... and its a place where the crossing area is right next to a blind corner... no one crosses there because its not safe... many small towns in us get majority of funding from traffic tickets... so small town cops will look for silly or obscurse laws to book you to fund their department. South Carolina traffic cops get quotas... they have to write so many tickets a month.
I was too young to drive when I left England so I don't really know. Wouldn't surprise me. Memory of Liverpool is pretty vague actually. Despite being close almost never had a reason to go into the city.
I Kind of did a bank job once, but I was pissed, i didnt steal anything and it was to avoid a Kicking.......I think that makes it ok!
