Not bad at all but you could have predicted the score, saying you're going to win 5-0 is much better. Eg, 0-5 with Michu scoring 4 and Nathan Dyer scoring with a towering header too
We've only got one Dai on our board and he's a bellend of the highest order. Apologies in advance if he turns up, please ignore as he's special
30 years since we beat the swans, time we did give them a thinking. In truth we will play well and lose by the odd goal.
That's a blast from the past. Take a look at the nationalities of the Southampton side that day - how times have changed! http://www.11v11.com/matches/southampton-v-swansea-city-05-march-1983-86568/
I've been thinking a lot about this fixture, trying to surmise how I feel. I guess if I had to describe it, in one word, I would have to say..... STOKED. Yes I think that's it.
Interesting parallel between the 2 sides.... Swansea went and splashed big cash on a centre forward and moved their main man from last season, Michu, a bit deeper to incoprorate him. Saints have done the same with Osvaldo and Lambert, which team has had more success operating the new system...guess Saturday will tell us. To the Swans fans..how has Michu adapted to dropping deeper? Obviously you bought him in as a number 10 (or a RVP 9 and a half perhaps) so surely he should feel comfortable returning to his natural role, or has he had a taste for beign the main man and now struggling to re-adapt? Anyway just an interesting aside to discuss perhaps...
This is the perfect game to start Ramirez, he's as fit as he is going to get without regular matches and he's potentially the answer to our biggest problems. Starting matches slowly, not finishing off chances, slow low quality possession and lack of link between front 2 and midfield. I would have him in for Davis who wasn't poor but when you've got a player as talented as Ramirez you need to make a few tough choices in order to get him playing well. Poch likes to keep the ball and Davis certainly does this better than Ramirez but we looked our best going forwards when we played 1/2 touch forward passes quickly, see second half against west ham where we created more chances than in any other half. Davis showed against liverpool that he can do this well but Ramirez will do it better.
Michu has moved back to his natural position - attacking midfielder. Having said that he started up front against Arsenal last week and reverted to midfield when Bony came on.
Should be an interesting build up with you Swansea lads chipping in with your views. Have you got a big enough squad for the Europa games not to affect your PL form?
The Bony and Michu combo concerns me a bit. How is bony getting on? Im hoping on Sunday he has a lean spell in front of goal!
I really think this will be a really close tactical game with us gaining the edge in midfield. 1-0 Lallana to score! We are turning into George Graham's boring boring arsenal!!! I'm not complaing
Football is so unpredictable. We should have beaten Sunderland and Norwich for instance. As for tonkings, we go in for the virtual variety...you know the sort without actual goals!! I always think of Swansea as the Welsh equivalent of us...good managers and both teams capable of beating the big guys and better than more than half the PL. Would be surprised if we were not both top ten this season. Home advantage should give us a win, but would settle for a draw to continue the momentum.
There's no doubt you will be top 10. You won't find any Swans fan that doesn't rate or respect your team. It's just a pity that more clubs don't conduct themselves the way your club and fans do
