Agree. I'm a big fan of Scott Brown and when he's not in the side it lacks drive but very disappointingly, by getting sent off, he let the team down badly tonight. Neymar da Silva Santos' overreaction was, of course, disgraceful but seems to be the norm from players in a lot of teams nowadays - he's still only 21 so hopefully will grow out of that silly behaviour. Don't know how Charles Patrick Mulgrew managed to miss with his header - seemed easier to put the ball in the net than put it where he did. As for the Barca goal, Efetobore Ambrose Emuobo in his usual mode of being incapable of judging the flight of the ball and complete lack of awareness of an incoming opposing attacker, was at fault in my eyes. In saying all of that, Celtic's overall performance was excellent and I think deserved to earn a draw from this game - as you say Georgios Samaras and Fraser Gerard Forster were outstanding. That's two games now where luck has not gone Celtic's way but as someone else has already intimated, hopefully that will change in the games to come.
i thought it was a sending off. he kicked out at him. overall our distribution was apalling, i thought ambrose was atrocious. Forster made some excellent saves and I hope that he now kicks on to the form of this time last year. Van Dijk played well as did Sammi and I thought Lustig did ok too. Commons and Stokes were pretty anonymous but that was in the main due to the service they recieved.
Ok, we got no points, but big Forster is worth Wanyama money now. Uncharacteristicerrorfromjoe Hart aint as good as him. Brown was stupid to give the referee a decision. Neymar was a **** for helping him with it. Red card aside, i thought the ref took away any physical advantage we might have at set pieces by blowing them all up. Micky Lustig can go no more than 70 minutes at full back. If he could last the 90 we'd have some points. He's tap tap class at defending.
If Brown isnt relieved of his duty as Celtic Captain in the next 48 hours I will never set foot inside Parkhead again in my life. Had more class in my big toe when I was 9yo than that wannabe, chookter, fake tim, fake hardman, nae natural ability, hun **** will ever have. If I ever see him in the street I will give him his character, hes an utter disgrace to club and a ****ing letdown bad, bad, bad, bad player, ****ing embarrassing he had to "kick" Neymar out of jealousy. Not fit to wear the jersey after that, The Broony was funny, but he has now become a laughing stock and has disgraced himself, his family, the fans, and the club.
Its a ****ing disgrace Ciaran, he better have got ****ing slaughtered in the dressing room and not one **** in that team better not come out and defend him. If Lennon hasnt got the balls to put that wee chookter worst **** in his place I will be disappointed. Talk about conduct unbecoming of a Celtic Captain, he should be beaten in the streets, wee prick doesnt have a clue what Celtic is about, brought up in ****ing edinburgh, hinks hes a ****ing ticket, al bite his ****ing nose off. Never been as angry about a Celtic player in my life.
Aye, Brown's a complete fanny. We may not have been stringing many passes together but we were in the game when it was 11 vs 11. What was he playing at!? The ball wasn't even nearby by the time he kicked out, the ref was 10 feet away and it was a ****ing stupid thing to do. From our captain, no less. Good example to set the res tof the team. Virgil was outstanding tonight and Big Fraser kept the score to 1 nil when it could easily have been 3. We were unlucky to not get a draw. In no way did we embarrass ourselves. Only **** who did that was captain fantastic Scott Brown
He pushed Balotelli when the ball was no where near him - free kick, goal, Celtic lose tie against Milan. He flicked his foot twards Neymar, grazed him and Neymar made the most of it, but it was stupid and petulant. A Sending off in line with the rules. Celtic lose against Barca. He's Celtic captain - grow the **** up! Hartson and Mackay said the same thing - it was stupid from Brown and gave the ref no real choice!
Well, I had a good ****ing laugh last night (no doubt this post will appear about 8 times). For all that it's a slightly different Barca side, watching them stroke it about in front of you is a pleasure - the pass from the keeper out to Neymar with 5 mins left was pretty stunning and I lost count of the amount of times I said "that's a great baw" from one of their players. I applauded them off (and Iniesta when he came off) except for that torn faced wee Brazilian prick and stayed to applaud our team as well. Losing to a team like that with 10 men is no disgrace by any means. I actually had a really good time at the game last night
Agree with Dev on this. Although Neymar is your typical diving and cheating johnny foreigner **** Brown was a complete idiot and cost Celtic a point. I know Barca had the vast majority of the possession but I though Celtic were quite comfortable up until the demented shark nheaded balloon kicked out. The initial "challenge" was not even a foul, Neymar even cheated the ref with that. But ultimately the ref had to send off Brown and Brown cost Celtic dear. If Lennon is defending this cretin (as I read somewhere else when he was on twitter) then he needs to give himself a shake as well. I wouldn't rule you out yet though.
The Milan penalty at Ajax was the most ridiculous award of the night. Balotelli runs towards the Ajax CB, grabs him and pushes him to the deck, in turn falls down with him and gets awarded a penalty!! Unbelievable decision, that ref should never get a game again.
