In the unlikely event that you are one of the "Chosen Few" you might like to research the difference between "don't care" and "don't mind". I know a lot of the anti name change people on here like to think that those who are not with them are all apathetic, but in fact many who are not with them are actually against them. It is not apathetic to hold a different opinion.
I wouldn't worry, all the committee members know the difference between those that don't care and those that support the name change.
I would say compromise at Hull City Tigers AFC as this way Mr Allam gets his wish for Tigers in the club name and fans wanting no change get to keep City and AFC. Given that Mr Allam has bank rolled the club and we need to be more commercially viable fans should cut him some slack and be prepared to compromise as long as he also does so.
How about Hull City AFC, The Tigers. To me the word "The" is equally important as all the other words in our name / nickname.
I'm sceptacle. I hope this isn't the consultation stage, so he gets the green light to go ahead. Good luck to the people meeting him.
This is the pre-cursor to the Smarm Offensive. Consultation has now started and you have been given a critical role. Good luck and remember - always come away with something.
And your point is? The place for speculation is here and on forums like this. Take the Brady injury, we speculate how long he will be out of action. Hearsay is the norm for forums. A meeting with Assem Allam must only include statements that can be supported by evidence. But lets only post facts, so here's one, you're a ****!
This sounds a positive move, at least they are prepared to talk. Listening to the Amber Nectar pod cast this week, I felt their general approach now to this situation was much more balanced, and to praise the Allam's quite rightly for what they have done for the club, but try to point out that the name change will not have the impact they feel it will, is the right approach. I would be inclined to try and use the analogy that I am sure they are very proud of their Family name the Allams, and would not change it under any circumstances. This is very much the case with Hull City AFC it is for many fans like a family, which they have grown up with from first going when they were a child to like me being 65. Egyptian are very family orientated, and something along these lines, backed up with as much evidence that a name change would not bring the financial benefits they are hoping for, may just get them to rethink.
It's that level of considered debate that makes this forum so balanced. Dear god I hope they don't let you anywhere near Dr Allam's and Obi's meeting.
