Best of British luck to him, maybe he will be better appreciated there....The facts are that he played a big part in our promotion to the Premier League with his goal assists but unfortunately his mistake at Man City on the opening day last season was never forgiven. Thanks Danny for your contribution to the team and the community.
Well said, Lamballana. I sometimes think our fans forget that when we were playing in the Championship some of our players were championship standard. Shock result. Danny Fox is a case in point. He doesn't quite cut it at this level, but he always put in a shift when required and his delivery of a free kick was often lethal for the opposition. Seems like a sound lad, and he is one of many who can wear the Southampton FC recovery medal with pride. Good luck in Bolton, Danny. As a northern lad you'll know what you'll be letting yourself in for ....
Targett has not played or part of 1st team squad. To me that would say he still has to progress his development to be involved in squad, let alone be good enough to play.
I've outrageously copied this from the other thread [not even my own words]: Best of British luck to him, maybe he will be better appreciated there....The facts are that he played a big part in our promotion to the Premier League with his goal assists but unfortunately his mistake at Man City on the opening day last season was never forgiven. Thanks Danny for your contribution to the team and the community. Which I generally agree with. Besides, it's time for Matt Targett to make the step up, he's perfectly capable to fill in. It also shows that Spurs have a cat's chance in hell of acquiring Luke Shaw for... well any money they can come up with really, but I believe it is £15M.
Good Championship player with an excellent cross and a great set-piece taker - was in the 08/09 team of the year. Good luck, Danny!
Yes, twice and will probably be a good player. You can throw in young players into the 1st team if they're good enough, which we do. Targett has not reached that point in his development unless you know something MP doesn't.
Saw him a lot last season and once this season. Good little player that obviously needs to improve but he is young. He is on the fringe of joining the first team I would say and if Fox left I can see him being the chance. If Fox leaves I don't see the point in having Clyne or Lovren or Yoshida as back up when we have a youngster that could do the job.
Well hope I am right and he is good enough now. I did get Shaw right after all, saw him when Fox was our first team starter and people were saying the same about how he wasn't ready. I just really like how we bring in youngsters.
