I may be completely barking but here's my prediction for the next two months. With 21 points up for grabs I would be happy with 9. We have seen the best and worst of the big teams. I do not think a draw against Man Utd at home is asking too much but hey-ho depends which Man Utd tips up on the day. Arsenal will have plenty of pace and I think we will surely struggle against them. Doubt we'll get anything from Chelsea away from home. I really think we can take all 3 points away from Villa and Newcastle are in disarray at the moment. Norwich away for me is a nailed on draw unless Van Wolfswinkel and other get their shooting boot back beforehand. Would love to see us beat the Swans at home but derbies are always tight affairs and I think it will be a 2-2 draw. So 9 from 21 on offer is a reasonable if not optimistic hope for me. What you guys think? Agree with the first two Taff, but I think we could get a result against Norwich. The Cardiff Swansea game go go either way, so wouldn't like to predict that one. (My heart says a thumping win for the Bluebirds) Agree about the Villa game but can't see us getting any goals from Manure or the Aaron Ramsey roadshow. The teams ending up in 17th place and avoided relegation since 1996, when the Prem went to 20 teams: the most points needed was Bolton with 44 points in 2003, and a goal average of -10. The least number of points needed for 17th place was Hull in 2009, 35 points and a goal difference of -25 and West Ham in 2010, 35 points and -19 goal difference. Average points to be safe in the Prem is 38.5 (from 1996) and average goal difference is -20.3. Looking at the points we have now and how many points we need to stay up then we have played 15.8% of our games and have 18.2% of the points we need. (based on getting 44 points). We have 22.9% of the point needed, based on the average point finish for 17th place. So in summary, we are only slightly ahead of where we need to be at this stage of the season.
Fck me guys - I just want to win Saturday - I'll get the slide rule and graphs going after about a dozen games............
Cardiff City V Newcastle 2-1 Chelsea V Cardiff City 0-2 Norwich V Cardiff City. 1-2 Cardiff City V Swansea 2-2 Aston Villa V Cardiff City 1-1 Cardiff City V Man Utd 0-2 Cardiff City V Arsenal 1-0 Total Points 11
one game at a time and believe you can get 3 points in every game, Its 11 v 11 and its who turns up on the day...It can end up 0pts or 21pts but probably somewhere in between ..
I think from here on in an average of 1 point a game should see us stay up. So over the next 7 games I would like to see us get 7 points
Not much to get, it was me saying mid table will be a shame so we'll have to go for top spot next year....
Right or wrong, your predictions promise 4 humdingers of home games then with an average of 4-5 goals a game! ps. cannot quite see those results TBH.
Haha, I thought that when I read Masky's predictions. We're in for the most exciting period of home games in MM's managment history!! I think we'll get 7 or 8 points from these fixtures, but that could easily be as low as 4. If we do take 7 or 8 we'll be well on course for staying up after a very difficult first 4 months fixtures wise.
