http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...e-clawing-Tottenham-rival-Jan-Vertonghen.html And I was so looking forward to another 115 page of self-serving, contradictory humbug after the kangaroo court sat again.
So lets look at it. Spanish speaking.... Pinching....... Possibly said something possibly didn't.... what's missing? A patently exaggerated and probably false statement from the other player? A red Shirt? Alex ferguson managing the opposing team? Damien Comolli translating? hmmmmmmm.... perhaps people just think torres is more white and thus more acceptable. After all it can't be chelsea cos they did terry didn't they?
They bent over backwards to make Terry's punishment less than Suarez though, practically even announcing it months before his court case when discussing Suarez's punishment.
Yep, this is annoying but I said this at the time too, we just get labelled delusional or biased Sure, biting is disgraceful and I actually back the punishment for the crime. But, what grates me is seeing things like Torres' so-called scratch (I say that because he didn't leave a mark but that is irrelevant in this discussion, especially considering Suarez didn't leave a mark either) and the Joey Barton incident from the end of the 2011-12 season. As many of us said at the time, Luis may as well punched Ivanovic, he'd have been sent off at the time and nothing more would have been done beyond the statutory three game ban. Effectively, with the ban they gave Suarez, they said "if you want to hurt an opponent, don't bite them. You can scratch, headbutt, punch or kick them but you'll be banned longer for a bite, especially if you have previous".
But hang on y'all, the worst bit is the justification: i.e. an official saw it, albeit not in its entirety But isn't that EXACTLY what happened with the Suarez/Evra affair? The referee was told there was a coming together between the two players in the box by the fourth official. He went and dealt with it. Is that not EXACTLY the same thing? - less even, in that there was video evidence for what Torres did, there was just the word of a proven liar (who was to perjure himself AGAIN) as to what Suarez was accused of.
don't worry about it torres will be back sooner to weaken the cheslea team so we can get 4th. the lesson is certainly to break legs to get back at players for sure.
The worrying thing is they say the officials saw it which is why they can't act. If that's the case, then the officials, who ever they are, need to be looked at and asked the question, why do you not think this is a red card offence? I thought the FA also changed their rules allowing them to go back and punish incidents even if the officials had seen it following the McManaman tackle last year?
Peter Schmeichel talking on MOTD2 Extra on Sunday saying how Suarez was backpage news for saying how he'd change however no mention anywhere of Torres and his scratching. Also went on to say how had it been Suarez it would have been all over the papers and people would have been calling for another huge ban. In his eyes, there wasn't much difference between Suarez biting and Torres' scratch.
this 100% all day! if that was Suarez it would be a national scandal with David fukbag Cameron quotes and all the trimmings
I've said it many many times. I'd rather someone bit, scratched or verbally abused me than punch me and I'd rather punch someone if I wanted to hurt them before the others. #****eduprules
Yeah but when was the last time you saw someone truly throw a proper punch another player in the top leagues? Its always a bit of handbags, a little kick, crafty elbow, or slowly nudging their heads together. #Notamanssportanymore
Joey Barton on last day of 2011-12 season. It wasn't a proper punch but that was the last time someone lashed out properly. Before that it was probably David Batty and Graeme Le Saux in their CL battle
