His handling of the council (and the media fallout) was abysmal. Surely it's possible to get your own way AND promote goodwill? He did neither. The promotion 'celebration' was a sad spiteful fiasco that backfired big time.
True, he comes across awful with the media. He's not at all savvy in that way. But I think he'll win the battle and that Hull City will finish up owning the KC. Its the only way the council can cover the closing down of sports amenities in the City. They can't afford to run them and I doubt if the people of Hull, when getting buses and trains out of Hull to go swimming and play sport, unless going to private clubs, will sit back and think 'Well at least we've got Hull Fair for one week of the year'. Brady already talking of reopening talks with Doctor Allam away from the media spotlight, Geraghty talking of a new swimming pool and Ice Rink near the city centre - with private investment so the council won't be paying the wage bill. Its all gone very quiet.
After Cameron and the other twats cut Hull's budget by 40% the council will need all the investment they can get.
AA is nobodies fool, he has this whole process worked out and he knows that the first phase is about concluded; he has measured his opposition. The next phase is were he is seen to do his consultation - that should be a laugh. Concurrent activity will be building a dream that can be taken away and playing on the fickle nature of so many football supporters. That will see us to Xmas. Then comes phase three, the PL approach - he needs to do this early so re-branding can happen for the 2014/15 campaign - shall we call this the Smarm Offensive. In the meantime, the real deal, the stadium and surrounding land will be re-negotiated, people will swallow their tongues and a deal will be brokered. The club will get the stadium, the team will get a new name - possibly a compromise of Hull City Tigers, but don't bank on it and the vast majority of supporters will move on to the future, but probably as Hull Tigers, as a transition makes no sense. If you want to have any chance at derailing this timetable then you have to stop planning to April. Organise in-stadium demonstrations and escalate them; don't disrupt matches, but steal the media focus, get fans in a face-off with AA and cronies and stop acting against him with one breath and lauding him with the next. He is the enemy, it is a war and if you don't adopt that attitude you will win the sum total of **** all.
(Phew!) There wasn't much of a budget to slash after Brown/Balls ****ed us all up. I pay my taxes like everyone else, and like everyone else I want to see this city thrive. But demanding subsidies or handouts from central govt and whingeing when they get reduced, is no way forward. It shows very limited ambition if all we aspire to is more benefits and non jobs for -{ grimaces}- .........the lazy, thick, workshy, obese ****ers in our midst.
To be fair, if I was in the anti-brigade... I would want my campaign leaders to take this kind of attitude rather than the committee-type approach they seem to have adopted. There must be some current or ex council employees on that group judging by the state of the meeting minutes.
I'm still waiting for you to answer the questions I asked you. If the City Council sell the stadium it will be no benefit because of the local government finance rules.
I'm referring to whatever Brady/Geraghty and their loser bungling cronies are whingeing about. We failed to get meaningful jobs here when Prescott was deputy PM and Alan Johnson was Home Sec.....both in cabinet for many years. Do you think this city will ever be represented at the top table again in such a way? And yet we got zilch. As a city we failed to 'repair the roof when the sun shone' politically-speaking. Now it's the Tories fault..........
I think they're whinging about Cameron's determination to slash the City's budget by 40% (the one allocated to all councils to support basic services?)
Why is that? Surely people who can't be arsed to work should be able to live in 4 bedroom houses with acres of fields, own brand new BMW's and have 2 week holidays in the Maldives three times a year whilst their neighbours are out the house at 6am and home at 6pm working their arses off to scrape enough together to use their central heating over winter? Of course demanding handouts from the government is the way forwards, how else would people be able to spend their days watching tv etc. in luxury sat in one of their three spare bedrooms that no one else could possibly ever have a need for? I find it despicable that Cameron and the twats are trying to prevent people from living this way. Everyone should be entitled to live their own lives as they like - so long as they live in a way acceptable to myself and they dont find offensive jokes amusing - if it doesn't meet the criteria I should be well entitled to shove my opinion down their throats and tell them how to live their lives and why they're wrong and bad people. Don't you think Craig?

Get over yourself; you set your personal bar more than low enough for us all to understand what turns you on. It always amuses me when some **** hides behind socio-political belief to mask their perversions. As OLM said, no politics; baby-rape jokes are off limits too, no matter how much that offends your personal tastes.
