I'll probably be pilloried for this, but I think White Hart Lane is a great stadium, always has a cracking atmosphere. Shame I have a longstanding and personal dislike of Spurs.
1901, if you want to go to Millwall, just make sure you stay alert and don't wear your team's colours. It will be a great atmosphere, and would be shame to miss out if you're only in England for a short time. I think the threats of violence are very overstated- and you're unlikely to run into any trouble if you're careful, and "keep your wits about you".
You have to try R block on Ellerslie Road at least once. It's the loudest part and a lot of the singing/chanting starts from there. It has the best atmosphere and a lot of people there know their football.
I was thinking exactly the same thing, but Simon says.......perhaps being able to recycle that blue & white scarf for our games? If I was a neutral in his situation, I would try and catch a few games at different London teams, in different divisions to compare the experiences? As they say, the more the merrier?
I warn you to stay away from Loftus Road. Failure to heed this advice will inevitably result with you being as hooked as we all are and then you too will be doomed for a life time of dashed dreams in the hooped hell. Run, run I say, while you still can.
How true and how we revel in it! My son now wears his Dennis the Menace at 3 yr old soccer training every Thursday morning so no doubt he'll follow in his fathers footsteps!
I know, I know! Never know Swords might get involved as per last year regarding the origin of 'soccer'!
Just to clarify, I wasn't inferring Stan was a racist. Such an insinuation couldn't be further from the truth for such a man. It was an attempted irony (which clearly failed) at the ongoing controversy with the Spurs fans, the FA and indeed the Prime Minister himself over the supporters' "Yid Army" chants. Only the day before I responded to SB's post, I heard that egotistical, half-wit, do-gooder Peter Herbert on radio saying he was going to personally sue as many Spurs fans as he could over the chanting. Obviously not everyone was listening to that clown so my remark above didn't register in the way it was meant to. Even more obvious is the fact that my attempts at "humour" are well out of touch. So I'd like to apologize for leveling that remark in Stan's direction as its not something that should be made a joke of. I hereby withdraw that remark, SB mate.
