I think we should all take a step back as i heard that same theory elsewhere but i just wonder... the truth has not yet come out. All we heard was about stress but what if ferguson is sick? who knows... why he left when he did will eventually come out i guess but in the end for the future of utd it must be said that moyes is a legendary pick.... for all non utd fans.
Ferguson can always use the excuse that he sacked his personally recommended backroom staff and had a terrible transfer window.
Ferguson needed a hip replacement & rumour has it he was going to retire the year prior, but Aguero's last minute title decider changed his plans. He knew the Operation would require a recuperation period that was about 6 weeks longer than the closed season, so realistically he needed to wait until he retired to have it. He turns 72 in December, so he was already well into 'fergie time' in regards to his career length, so with the final title in the bag, it was merely a case of 'the time is now' - there's no deeper reason than that imo.
I read that his sister in law had passed away, therefore he wanted to spend more time with his wife and support her.
The BBC have been looking at cut backs, I'd pretty sure Mr Hansen's £400k per year would have raised a few eyebrows
£400K? he wouldn't have got out of bed for that.....he was on £1.5m before the Beeb went on a cost cutting mission a year or so back & shaved £500k off it......
There's never been any specific denial that it was to do with Operation Weeting. Just throwing that out there....
Could be, i mean you couldn't leave phelan in charge for six weeks. i dunno but i thought the guy would not let a hip keep him from a challenge. maybe saw what was coming?
Of course he saw it coming, signing RVP but doing nothing to address the decaying midfield is as obvious as it could ever be that he was throwing the dice one last time with no regards to what would happen a few seasons down the line.
Yeah I'm sure that was also a factor, as there are some key players in that squad who are either past or rapidly approaching, their sell by dates. Therefore a rebuilding process is inevitable & his age realistically meant that it's better to hand over the baton now & let the new man build his own side.
I just think he'd reached the age when enough is enough. He hasn't looked all that well for a while imo.
Not like you to state the obvious Tobes - oh and I alluded to it when I said 'it was a masterstroke from fergie going for Moyes'. Of course it's fanciful, you know I like to take the novel approach, throw something out there, widen the debate. And if Moyes carries on in the same vein, there is only one way it will reflect on the anointer - it always had that potential anyway given how risky a choice it was!
